Although Pollo Tropical is my favorite grilled chicken chain, their grilled chicken, black beans and white rice is delicious, when it is prepared properly, this Restaurant in particular lacks proper management, personnel training and appropriate cleaning. When I ordered the family value meal of one whole chicken, white rice and black beans, the cashier named Cedric charged me 13.99 instead of 12.99 as advertised on the menu board. When I realized his mistake and pointed it at him, he laughed down in my face and asked me if I seriously want my dollar back. Aside of that I noticed dirty and sticky handrails and the self serve area. One thing is for sure, I will not come back to this location.

POLLO TROPICAL is by far my FAVORITE fast food place. This is fast food that makes you skinny. You have to love that!

Has to be the worst Pollo Tropical ever! The last time I went I had to wait over 45 minutes. I am NOT exaggerating. The crowd inside the restaurant was bursting at the seams. Workers were apologetic and offered free soda but that couldn’t make up for. 45 min wait. So I figured that was a long time ago. Let me give it another shot as I love the food from Pollo. Went to the drive-thru and Ordered a Family Meal w dark meat only. They said “we don’t have dark meat. Well, we do but I can’t make the whole order dark meat only.” Didn’t feel like arguing and drove off. What in the world?!?!?

This is the 2nd time I've eaten here at this particular location. I usually patronize the one in Miramar off Southwest 148th Avenue and Miramar Parkway. I think it's All About Management. But this Pollo Tropical always seems dead, and the workers inside do not seem very enthusiastic at all to be there. Yes, I understand it's a fast food joint, but when you compare this one to the one in Miramar, there is a night and day difference. Now let's get on with the food part. All the food here is exactly the same as other Pollo tropical's, but the service here or the way they run things is not up to par. The last time I was there it was about 2 weeks ago with my kids, they were out of spoons and forks and there were also out of straws and some other items. It's annoying to have to get up from your table and go to the counter and ask for these items when they should be readily available in the condiments section. That's the only bad thing I can say about this place, and this wasn't an isolated incident, this happened more than once. This place just needs a little boosting morale, whether it comes from the top down or the down to the top, something needs to be done. When you walk into a Chick-fil-A, that's a restaurant that is incredible and that its employees are always happy and that's why it's always packed. The only defense I can say about this particular location, is that it's only about a year old, prior to being Pollo Tropical, it was a Wendy's I believe. Access to it is difficult if you're traveling on the Northbound Lanes of Flamingo Road. You actually have to make a u-turn on Griffin Road to get to it. If you're traveling Southbound on Flamingo Road, it's very hard to see from the street. It's just not an ideal location for this type of restaurant. Overall, the food is great, but you're going to find little things here and there that will make you think twice about coming back.
