Story

The team at Pollock Begg Komar Glasser & Vertz LLC came together because of our dedication to family law, our high ethics and similar values, and our desire to help clients make smart, strategic choices. Leveraging individual strengths, knowledge and courtroom tactics, Pollock Begg Komar Glasser LLC formed in 2001 when two of the biggest law firms in Pittsburgh eliminated their matrimonial law departments. David S. Pollock, who was partner and head of Reed Smith’s matrimonial group, envisioned a powerhouse family law firm and sought out the best divorce and domestic relations lawyers in Western Pennsylvania, recruiting partners Todd M. Begg, Daniel H. Glasser and Candice L. Komar from Buchanan Ingersoll. Starting with just two associates, the firm now boasts 15 lawyers and 30 employees and is the largest of its type in Pittsburgh. Expanding its name to Pollock Begg Komar Glasser & Vertz LLC in 2012 with the addition of named partner Brian C. Vertz and adding a sixth partner, Joseph R. Williams, in 2015, the firm is renown as an industry leader, a top-tier law firm as ranked by US News and World Report, and is a champion for attorney pro bono work, volunteerism and community involvement.

We are respected in the courtroom. Our opposition knows we are not shy about going to trial, which creates a motive to settle cases. We have the capacity to take on high-conflict custody cases and very complex valuation asset and income issues while still providing all of our clients with the level of service they deserve.
