We started going to Pop’s December 2012 (we’ve vacationed in Venice area 1x per year for 10 days since), and until 2015 it was amazing...there was lots of food, and the items were of quality along with the cooking. Unfortunately from 2015 on it has consistently disappointed us. For example, I always order the mixed grill; items have been over cooked....went twice last week and my shrimp was horribly dry. I was also very disappointed with the fries...being Canadian and paying almost $30 us, I expect home cut fries and enough of them...I have no desire to overeat, but the sprinkling I got along with their poor quality (cheap frozen...over cooked and cooled!) wasn’t adequate. For the previous years up to 2015, they had the best fries for sure. Furthermore, the place seems to need more consistent grooming and cleaning outside (filthy windows and siding...overgrown landscaping lacking vibrancy)...we’ve only eaten outside; hopefully the inside is better though :) What a shame because the views are awesome, and the service is great. We keep giving it a try, but not sure about next year....I mean waiting in line for an hour and dealing with the packed parking are seeming to not be worth it...we can’t be the only ones disappointed these days can we? We’ve always recommended this place to the people we know back in Ontario, but I feel bad now; I hate for people to go out of their way only to be disappointed. *The lightly breaded scallops have been great though :)

The food was very good. The service was good as well. There were 4 in our party. They have an outdoor bar, indoor and outdoor seating. We had about a 30 minute wait to be seated. While waiting we decided to have a drink at the bar. The love bugs were out. They were everywhere. Pop's are not the cause of the love bugs but they could have set up some fans to blow them away from the patrons. Parking is at a premium as the lot is relatively small. I would go back though.

Pop's is very nice. The outside area in the spring air is quite nice. The wind comes off the river but there are fire pits. The food is adequate, not the best fish options but the turkey burger is good and the hamburgers are pretty good too. The bar is always packed and the bartenders do not have time to wait for you to think about what you want so have your order ready.

Ok so 1st things 1st there is a reasonable amount of parking spaces & since this restaurant is on the water they also have boat parking. Best time to go for lunch is between 11-12 this will ensure that you get a parking spot, cut down on wait time & eating. We opted for eating outside by the water which had a beautiful view of the beach across the way and we got to watch boats come & go it was very relaxing. For drinks we had a Sunset Punch, $6.75 & an Island Old Fashioned, $7. I thought the prices were very reasonable considering that they had alcohol. Next up, what we order to eat: Original Urbanek's Steamship Pot (it's supposed to be enough for 2 people but that really depends on how hungry you are). Here's what you get: 20 shrimp, corn on the cob, potatoes, carrots, onions, drawn butter, cocktail sauce & your choice of 20 oysters, 2lbs mussels or 2 lobster tails for $39.95. We opted for 20 oysters. How was it? The veggies we're delicious but the shrimp & oysters were over steamed! Is that a thing 🤔? But you know what? It worked & you know why? Because this place isn't about food it's all about atmosphere! Sometimes it's not what you eat but where you eat it...at least it is for us! We will definitely eat here again. The restaurant also has a little gift shop filled with nice t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets and shot glasses. Enjoy!

Great location and view .. long wait times and was skipped in the wait 2 different times for vip or friends of employees families who got seated immediately. Very poor customer service. Not one server was smiling. Our sever never came back to the table except for the check... I would trade the view for good customer service anytime. This restaurant is only busy because of its location and limited options don’t be fooled.
