New Hampshire's Original Brewpub! We've been making award winning beer and fantastic food in the heart of downtown Portsmouth since 1991.

Story

The Portsmouth Brewery, New Hampshire’s original craft brewery, has been serving great food and outstanding handcrafted beers in a friendly, lively atmosphere since 1991. We’re open seven days a week, from 11:30am till 12:25 at night (except Thanksgiving and Christmas – that’s when we go home and put our feet up). Our kitchen is open till 11pm on weeknights, till 12:25am on Friday and Saturday nights. Click here to see today's specials:

We are from So Florida and wanted to walk around Portsmouth, which my sister in law turned me on too. We came up for a wedding this weekend. Saw the brewery and thought what a cool looking place .we sat at the bar and was greeted by Patrick and later Sarah. What a great team. We started our lunch with the soup of the day which was a fish chowder and boy was it delicious the I had the fish sandwich which was also quite tasty and super fresh. I totally give this place 2 thumbs up. Thanks for a fun day.

Was very easy to spot from the street, and I'm very glad I went inside. A multi level brewpub, they know their beer and food. I got a flight of beers, and most were pretty good, with the Royal Impy stout being one of my favorites. All the food I saw being brought to other tables looked delicious and made me want to try everything

there was good food and good atmosphere. a very fun place especially for beer lovers. the menu was contemporary yet had many old favorites such as burgers. my husband had a pasta with Bolognese which was very good. Good for kids and adults. Kids menu was appropriate. they also seat larger groups with their "big --- " table. very cool. would definitely recommend.

Stopped by to grab a bite and watch football game. Nice little joint, the food was pretty good although portions were small. Not a huge beer buff bit they had some tasty options, no domestic beers at all. They did not have a lot of TVs or large screens to watch the game, but the ambiance was very nice.

Worth the trip to portsmouth just to go here! Fantastic selection of tasty craft beers, both brewed in house and from the surrounding area. The food is delicious, and reasonably priced. Best happy hour in the area weekdays from 4-6 with $4 beers and half off their already low priced bar snack menu. Great for vegetarians with a large selection of items to choose from, not just the standard veggie burger. Their house made desserts are very good as well. Service and atmosphere are always beyond expectations. I recently moved back to the area and this was the first restaurant I went to.
