We feature a showcase of traditional and contemporary Native American art, crafts and music, as well as craft supplies and dried herbs.

Story

Located on the corner of 6th Street and Main in downtown Rapid City, Prairie Edge stands two stories high and stretches out for half a block. The brick, wood, and glass storefront have been restored to its original 19th century glory.

Inside, the hardwood floors and polished cabinetry bring to mind the spirit of the Old West, while the distinct smell of sweetgrass and soft sound of a Lakota flute evoke the mystique of the Great Plains Indian.

Have been in a few times now and still feel like I need to go back so see more.  Store/Museum.  Plenty of staff nearby always with a smile to help, but never have felt them hovering.

I could have stayed all day. So many beautiful things and the best horse artisan's work I have ever seen. You could almost hear them breathing.

This store is to die for!!  As a native Cree/Ojibwe, it was dreamy to be walking through such an excellent tribute to the native cultures and talents of the local artists.  We were very glad to have our credit card on us!  I can't wait to come back in the spring to see what new things they might have for us to see.

This is a go-to every time I'm in Rapid City. The Native American art here is the best there is. There are native reproductions as well as fine art on the top floor. The middle floor has been redone into a furniture studio offering western and native themed pieces. They are works of art themselves and of the highest quality. But for the more budget minded there are many high quality and affordable souvenirs here too. And the historic Firehouse Restaurant is right next door! Don't miss this unique experience. It's VERY MUCH worth the time.

AmaZing space! I love the historical building. A ton of unique items to gift all your loved ones. Be prepared to spend some time looking through all the wonderful items.
