Unprofessional and/or blazingly incompetent. I rented a boat slip through them in '15 and I wanted the same slip for '16. I called at the end of the season and I was assured that I would be contacted first to rent the slip the next year. I also followed up by email and got the same assurance. Made the mistake of trusting them. The slip was rented to someone else with no notification to me. Unlike last year, the person handling slip rentals this year had not the first clue about boat slips.

After spending a lot of time researching websites for vacation home rental properties in the Lakes Region I chose Preferred. The agent at the office was very helpful on local activities for my kids. I've rented twice and plan on using them again in the future. Highly recommended! Take advantage of the magazine they offer with any rental. Lots of coupons and great places to dine! I don't typically write reviews, but the experience I had with Preferred and the lake homes we rented is worth noting!

I was looking for a rental property in the Lakes Region and found the Preferred Vacation Rentals site.  The site was so easy to use and also gave me some great tips of things to do and see while I'm in the area.  The staff was very friendly and helpful when I spoke with them.  I would use them again and again as well as recommend them to anyone I know!

While not a customer, I had the good fortune when my vehicle broke down to coast into the lot of Preferred Vacation Rentals.  The owner, Mark, went above and beyond to make sure I found the help I needed and even offered that I could leave the trailer I was pulling on his lot as long as needed.  If he treats a random person off the street this well, I suspect his customers are very well taken care off.  Thanks again!

Do not list your property with this agency. As a homeowner, I've had mine listed with them since 1991.  Without notification, they did not renew my contract with for 2015 because it wasn't "profitable" for them.  By his own admission, the owner Mark said, "I guess it was our fault" it wasn't profitable. In addition, the professional cleaning service does not do a thorough job...greasy stove, dusty furniture, dirty mirrors. In all those years I only complained to the agency when it was seriously unacceptable like moldy glasses in the dishwasher, the love seat turned to face the wall (it was damaged in the front), prophylactic under the bed, and the most disgusting one was urine in the bedroom waste basket. They did resolve each particular problem but it should never have occurred with a responsible agency.
