4 star rating for Dr. G and his assistant ONCE my daughter actually got in to see them. Otherwise a NEGATIVE 5 for the continuity of care since her release from inpatient care for substance abuse. Hegira did NOT set her up for her medication appointment OR for ongoing counseling. She has had to advocate for herself. Not an easy task for most people let alone someone newly in recovery. She finally got an appointment for medication but still no appointment for counseling services. This is 7 weeks since her discharge from inpatient. Front desk staff should be working in a sewer plant since that's the way they treat patients on the phone. Deplorable and guaranteed to keep your loved one SICK or relapsing. It is a great business model to keep the cash cow going though. If you're looking for actual assistance look somewhere else. You won't get it here.
My therapist was good so 1 star rating for that. The Psychiatrist promised she'd help me but never returned any of my calls when I forgot to tell her I was on a sleeping pill. I had to go to primary care to get them. The Psychiatrist had an attitude, I think she has mental health issues herself. This facility will keep you mentally ill. I've never had. Psychiatrist I've hated more. I now go to Oakland Family Centers where I'm heard and treated right. Don't take your loved ones here unless you want no progress. They just want your money.
This place is awful the psychologist by the name of Tina Paton Decided to have a full on argument with my daughter who is on medication And then decided to take her off her medicine That has a withdrawal, leaving her with nothing and a young child. She asked to be put on the medicine she was taking prior to this place that it worked for her The woman argued with her then told her she can no longer get medication through this facility. We’re Talking about somebody who has mental health issues and asked to be put on something that used to work for her. These people are not here to help!! She literally let my daughter be put on a prescription that causes withdrawals and then let her go all over the weekend with no medication. DONT RECOMMEND!!! so over the holiday weekend memorial day weekend my daughter laid in bed, crying about her head having shocking pain. When her eyes move.. Nope
Dr Gilly and their nursing staff and my therapist Selena are the best I couldn't ask for any better they help me with everything I need help with and they're the first doctors and therapists I went to that actually care about me and care about what's good for me I will never see any other doctor except Dr Gilly He actually cares about you and what's going on with you and how he can make it better. Unlike some other places and clinics that I've been to that I won't mention their names except the name rhymes with Dr Hammons lol.. that were totally unprofessional and rude and treated you like a number with Dr Gilly and his nursing staff and therapists you will get the help that you need as long as you're open and honest about everything if you're not open and honest about everything you won't get the help you need and you won't get help at all if you never are honest. Best doctor ever! I read all of the Bad reviews under mine and I've never heard of one of those people everyone is complaining about Must be a different part of the building because the substance abuse care and the therapy I have been set up with have nothing to do with who I've worked with. maybe you're looking in the wrong place for help.My Dr and nursing staff and therapists are great I would recommend them to everyone.
I was a patient here since 2016 and some individual therapists are trying their best, but overall the staff here are terrible. Gianina, one of the prescribers, told me I was "too smart to have ADHD," which is literally not how ADHD works, and they refuse to prescribe stimulants no matter how bad your symptoms are. Dr Babu told me I had to stop using cannabis for my insomnia and anxiety "because psych meds don't work when you use marihuana," which isn't supported by any medical literature I have a degree in psychology and regularly read medical papers, because ultimately I'm responsible for my own health care and prefer to be genuinely informed rather than simply trusting whatever comes out of the mouth of a random medical professional. Jasmine, one of the "dbt informed therapists," has such a rigid mindset that I'm not sure how she can help any patients at all let alone someone who needs dbt. She doesn't even like people using fidgets when those are *known* to help both with attentional issues as well as distress tolerance for people doing dbt. They also lost all their dbt trained therapists in 2020 and are trying to cobble together a new program, but the wait list is long for the more intense group, and the less intense group led by Jasmine the terrible got cancelled because there weren't enough participants. There's also a separate wait-list for an *individual* therapist who is "dbt informed." Trying to get med appointments is ridiculously difficult if they cancel on you, and some of them do quite often, and good luck getting refills on time if that happens. They also like to schedule med reviews every six weeks or longer, which makes no sense considering prescriptions are filled for 30 days at a time, so everything gets out of sync. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else if you need mental health care.
They cannot fix Addison's disease with antidepressants and counseling, they can't even diagnose it, I went there 7 years ago, I went there off and on for like 3 years, I'm not even sure if that's the exact dates cuz now I have memory problems, they cannot fix people that have endocrine diseases, The problem is the symptoms come up as depression and then get treated wrong with antidepressants! They have no clue what is going on if they don't get endocrinologist involved in mental health treatment, hormones affect the brain and antidepressants don't fix it!
Dr. G has a napoleon complex and mismanaged my medications making me severely sick. When notified he ignored my calls. I had to seek treatment at another hospital. AVOID.
This is one of the worst mental health agencies in Western Wayne County. While being serviced as a patient in 2018-2019 a male wraparound facilities manager learned my regular routine made a sexual advance towards me at my home and then downplayed what he did by offering to take me to Dairy Queen to forget he made a sexual advance towards me. I reported the behavior and they didn't believe me saying that the date the accusations took place was incorrect. They really tried to treat me like I was crazy due to me mourning the loss of my husband. Don't waste your energy or breath on this agency they don't care about you.
This place is beyond horrible! My daughter who is 16 with multi mental problems has been going here I have had nothing but issues! Went through multiple therapist and they did nothing for her and now this therapist Ebony Threatened me when I I didn't do the wrap around program when she wanted me to. She threatened me saying it was neglect and asking me if I wanted to lose my rights! She is a bully! She said all this with my daughter sitting right there and traumatized her further! Saying she was going to tell her supervisor about the conversation. That was completely unethical and unprofessional and inappropriate just because I'm not doing what she wants! I suggest Everyone ito stay away from this place! I'm taking my daughter elsewhere. That was the most disgusting behavior I have ever seen by an adult. They don't Care!!!
Since starting my therapy at Heigera my anxiety, depression, PTSD, and stress level have all tremendously increased Prior to going to Heigera for mental health treatment, I was under the care of a private psychiatrist for 20years who was AMAZING and I had NO IDEA what transitioning to state funded mental health treatment would entail. The 1st psychiatrist @ Heigera took me off an anxiety medicine ive been on for 20yrs and tried to replace my 1 medicine w 2 medications that have NOTHING to do w anxiety. When they administered ny psych evaluation, the nurse practioner...not even psychiatrist...tried to administer my eval 15mins, LATE, into the appointment and told me that we could still do the eval but it would have to be "rushed" due to her next appt. The only reason the appt started late was because of Heigera's neglectfulness to even send me the link I needed for the tele health appt. My therapy session was interrupted 3 times by a stranger to let my therapist know she had to be out of the building by a certain time...eavesdropping and interrupting my session completely..not to mention VIOLATING my HIPA rights. This is the absolute WORST place to go for mental health treatment or ANY kind of help!! As a mentally ill patient myself, I BEG anyone who is suffering from ANY kind of mental illness to NOT go to Heigera for help!! PLEASE SEEK HELP ANYWHERE ELSE BUT AT THIS FACILITY!!!They do NOT care about their patients rights or well being at all. Heigera ONLY cares about the state insurance $$ that they recieve for having you as a patient and it is DISGUSTING!! Hopefully sometime soon the state steps in and reevaluates their lisencing and therapists so that no one seriously gets hurt from their complete neglect, lack of empathy and care. Even the director of outpatient services, Matina, does not put the patient's care or well being 1st...and that's scary. The entire staff at Heigera is rude, incompetent and does NOT have the knowledge or training they need to do their job correctly and actually HELP...ANYONE!!
