My primary Doctor referred me to the ER department at St. Mary to get a scan of my abdomen due to a hernia. I found the entire staff that I encountered on my visit to be very friendly and professional. A special thanks to Dr. Daniel Keyes and Dr. Linda Cox for treating me as if they were my primary care Doctor's rather than the stereotypical ER type doctor. They were kind, very laid back, and communicated with me as if I was their only patient for the day. I will not hesitate to return to St. Mary Hospital when their services are needed again.

They also kept me for no reason but to bill my insurance. It’s messed up. I have good insurance, but now I have a $3,000 bill, mainly for the hospital room, that they made me stay in. I went in because I threw up blood. I was stable the next day. I was in the hospital for two days before I even met with the specialist. They kept me for almost five days total when I could have been out of there in one or two. I cannot recommend st. Mary’s. This place has always had a bad reputation. They kept me against my own will and charged me $3,000. They don’t care about patients, just making money. They’re also understaffed, even at the MD level. I had to wait over two days to get an endoscopy and colonoscopy, which in reality could have been done in 4 hours.

My sister has been a patient here for two weeks now. Most of the nurses have been absolutely great. The best one has been Kelsey from 2 South. She went above and beyond to get things done that weren't being done. Amazing young woman. Some need to find their heart, especially Rosie from 2 South. She was not kind at all and rude. The hospital itself is beautiful. I do want to file a complaint though. I tried to call your care line but got no answer. My issue is with the food service. First, your "chef" in the cafe was rude and makes it clear that he doesn't care about people or about food safety. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. While that was cooking two people ordered some kind of chicken sandwich. I watched him cut their chicken up and then use the same knife to cut my cheese sandwich without washing it off. That is cross contamination. I decided not to use the cafe again so I ordered a guest tray because I am staying here with my sister. I called twice last night to get my tray and was told it was on its way up. It was still not here at 7 pm and I couldn't call again because the phone to them was off. I talked to the nurse who was able to call them directly and my tray was found sitting on the cart where it had been for over an hour. I did not pay for cold food and melted sherbet. I decided to try again this morning for breakfast. Once again, 3 calls and 90 minutes later my breakfast arrived cold. I was told I had to pay $8 for it. I told the lady that I was not paying for cold food and she told me to heat it up. I refused to pay for it and refused to accept the food. I have been here for two days and I am not leaving until tomorrow. I will be going out for my food.

I believe the staff is wonderful and works very hard. They are loving and caring staff. Like anyone, there is stress on the job. In a hospital, there is immense stress. This hospital takes steps to provide such good & hardworking care. I love the nurses, clerks, doctors, case mangers, and social workers. The staff is exceptional and the effort to provide healing is seen in the medical and spiritual areas of the hospital. It's all encompassing!

They operate a top hospital. Staff has always been amazing. I am going in today for a MRI and I am sure will will get the same great treatment as I always have.
