This is a really central location and very convenient. It is easy to find and access your storage unit. However special thumbs p to the staff. Not too sure what Public Storage do but their staff are always in great mood and fun to talk to when i come to me unit. They all must be parents because they make time for my kid and always ask how is school and how she is doing. This means my youngest daughter (7) does not moan when i take her to the unit. From the very start the staff were great, they took me up showed me the different units types. From actually seeing the unit it helped me pick the one that was perfect for me. Since then they have always been helpful with whatever I need. So Kudos to them. All in all I am happy with both the cost, size of my unit and the friendly welcoming atmosphere when I visit.

After being there 6 months my rent went up 66%. I called corporate and they said the entire complex went up. When I asked other tenants (as I was moving out) if their rent went up and was told no. I asked the office and they offered me another unit for only $7 more. I used Public Storage at another site in Fort Lauderdale for many years without rent hikes. This is shocking to me. Do they hike the rent on everyone after 6 months so that you have to pay or move? Or am I special as a single woman? I could afford the few dollars more a month but it is a great percentage hike. I find this unscrupulous. Do not use them. I found a place across town which was a few dollars less.

Insurance was mandatory (extra $11 a month). But what they forgot to mention is that you can use your homeowners or renters insurance instead.

High percentage rent hikes every 6 months. Filthy public areas--no dedicated cleaning staff. Debris piled in corners, slime on glass, broken bathrooms with unflushed toilets. Forget the carts & elevator! Gloves needed! The area manager did address these issues when I complained, but poor Vicky is tasked with it all. Never saw male stuff push a broom!

Staff is friendly to your face but is rude and inappropriate on the phone. They yelled and hung up on me twice. I could barely speak beyond telling the my account number. I started my plan mid month and by mid month the following month I got an invoice then 1 day later a past due and $20 late fee. They told me it's just a courtesy to send invoices it's my job to pay and understand how much. I get that I would have a prorated bill but most places take that amount and apply it to your following bill not insist that you pay it 2 weeks into your first month and then penalize you when you don't realize you should have done that.
