About

Since 2007 Rad Power Bikes has been dedicated to building performance electric bicycles.

Story

The Story Behind Rad Power Bikes

The idea for Rad Power Bikes was born in rural Northern California in the summer of 2007 when the company launched its first ebike prototypes using lead acid batteries and, at the time, high power brushless motors. Since then Rad Power Bikes has been at the forefront of electric vehicle technology development from high capacity lithium-ion batteries to ebike status gauges, the ebike is now more than ever ready for the masses.

What Differentiates Rad Power Bikes?

We intentionally forgo the traditional bicycle distribution channel because the outdated distribution channel means a higher price tag for the consumer. Rad Power Bikes has been a design/build/maintain full service ebike brand since its inception in 2007.

We understand what it takes to provide great customer service and support to keep your bike running at its best. In addition to our online store where you can buy individual replacement parts and accessories we have a full time customer support phone line and email where your technical support questions will be answered same day.

The Value Proposition

We offer premium ebikes for almost half the cost you can buy a comparable bike for in traditional bike shop, or online through distributors and dealers.

We are a group of dedicated ebike enthusiasts, product designers, and entrepreneurs with a passion for business and technology. We all met while attending Humboldt State University and have since teamed up to bring you Rad Power Bikes!

I chose Rad because after looking at all the bikes on the market, the Rad was the most comfortable. I was delighted with the bike and took it out to ride with my 85 year old father who is an avid cyclist. When he became fatigued on his standard bicycle I traded bikes, he was thrilled. He liked it so much I bought one for him too! 2 weeks and he already has over 300 miles on it. My arthritis limits my endurance and becomes really cranky if I do too many hills, but my Rad keeps me rolling so that I get the same thrill of riding, just not with pain. Fantastic quality, fair pricing, very happy.

Just got my bike today!! She is a Rad Rover. She was super easy to put together!! I live in a rural area that doesn't have many flat roads. I took her 8 miles and was able to climb a hill that always kicked my butt on a regular pedal bike. I feel like a champion!! Tomorrow I will be taking her to work and back. I'm more than positive that it will also be a fantastic 14 mile ride each way!! Thank you Rad Power Bikes!!!

The response time and attention to customers issues and resolution was outstanding. I never imagined that your company would help me fix my problem by sending videos to help fix and troubleshoot my issue and after that did not work, your company offered to get the bike fixed by a third party. Companies should model your business process and practices around yours. i have never dealt with a company like this... the customer support i have received is excellent. i will definitely be doing business with you in the future and recommending your products to the people i know. outstanding company, thank you!

We absolutely love our Rad Rover fat tire bikes! We rode them a few weeks ago as rentals and could not wait to get our own. They are a great value for power, usability and off-pavement fun. We just can't wipe the smiles off our faces!!

How can you tell the difference between a new Rad Power Bike owner and a seasoned one? The number of bugs in their great big smile! The staff was great. Very knowledgeable, honest and helpful. Test rode a Mini last Tuesday afternoon while I was in Seattle and stopped by the store. I had tested a couple of other electric folding and non-folding brands and did a lot of research including options to convert my current bike to electric. Rad is the sweet spot. Bought two minis at the store and received in St. Louis this Wednesday. I ordered fenders so it took a while to assemble. One video tells you how to assemble and the other shows how to take it apart to install the fenders. Figuring out how to build once was not easy. Everyone who has tried riding it has a huge, teeth-showing, wide-eyed smile. The bike is a little big and heavy when folded, but I can get at least one and i think both in my Prius. I am now the proud owner of a smile-maker.
