Rails' popular signature lunch dishes include grilled salmon salad, spicy shrimp Caesar, portabella mushroom quesadillas, Broken Arrow Ranch axis burgers, and grilled Italian sandwiches. Dinner offerings include a selection of steaks, beef tenderloin, chicken Florentine, and shrimp creole.

This is a lovely restaurant which was a commercial train depot in the early 1900s.  Date marker outside the front door says 1915.  Inside us small and quaint.  We ate outside on the patio which is well shaded.  The menu selection was varied and ranged from 12.95 to about $30 per entree.  I had pasta with pesto and portobello which was excellent.  The wait staff was Laid-back and friendly.   Great place!

First time in Kerrville and we decided Rails A Cafe at the Depot. Great looking place, friendly service, reasonable prices for delicious food. Our server was very friendly and sincere. Healthy kids menu as well. This is not your average food restaurant. Restroom is very clean and cute decor. Every detail is spot on! Highly recommend!

Loved this cafe. Food is creative and the flavors are wonderful. The mushroom soup was Wow, the best I've ever had.  Service is good; the tea we had, I loved. And last but not least, the desserts are decadent.

Worst experience I have had in a long time. I went there to have dinner with my friend and it started off with a salad. When our salad came we asked the server if we could have bread with our salad he told us no, he was very sincere and apoligized that it was managements rule. Due to the fact that customers have to order there entree first because customers have a tendency to get oil on the menus which ruin them. So we weren't allowed to have bread with our salad. Then I ordered a steak which I asked to be cooked MR, it was well done. When I had brought the manager over I showed her the steak. with a grimace she took it back, also mind you I didn't ask them to recook it my friend was already almost done and at that point I was ready to go. I had forgot to mention the bread so I asked the server to have the manager come over once more. The first thing out of his mouth was haven't you complained already, I took $10 off the bill for you to. One my steak was $25 that I didn't touch at all, and two what kind of customer service is that. Three when I asked about the menus and being treated like a child not allowed to have bread because I may dirty your menus and you would have to buy new ones. He told me it's been that way for 14 years and it's not going to change now.  Well if you have had a business for 14years you would think by now you could afford menus that don't ruin and that you would have the skills to talk to your customers as well as listen to the advice they give. I will NEVER return back here. The sever was amazing as for the management I don't know how the place is still running.
