I'm sure that as a business they try to perform well for their customers, but the manager Doug at their Riverside Plaza location seems to treat his employees horribly. I was hired while balancing another job, and on the day of a scheduled training, my second job's schedule got in the way. Doug, unwilling to listen to reason, blew up on me when I tried to inform him of this. I was very polite and asked which day worked for him next, but the only option I was given was to come in on very short notice which didn't work for me. When I tried to tell him that it doesn't work, he raised his voice at me calling my behavior unethical and spoke to me in a ridiculously rude manner - somebody he doesn't even know. When I would try and talk, he would only get louder and more interruptive. Apparently I'm not the first employee to reschedule a shift, but it's clear that Doug has a habit of projecting his negative feelings onto his employees. When I tried to explain my situation further, his immediate course of action was to take my job offer away, completely insensitive to the fact that he hired somebody who also has another job to work with. This doesn't have much to do with how they handle their business, but I would not support a business that treats their employees this poorly.

Doug was super helpful the day my husband stopped in to browse. He had mentioned an Oakley upgrade program to my husband so we both came back later that afternoon with our older Oakley's to use as a trade in. We both ended up walking out of the store with very cool new glasses which we both love. Thank you Doug!!!!!! Susanne and Paul Whittier

We had a great time at this store. Thanks to the general manager Doug Balsamo, who assisted us to a great deal. We love this store.

I spoke to Doug on the phone , Very professional , I went to the store 312 and I meant Doug very personalty and a fun guy . I purchase a pair Maui Jim sunglasses . I had a great time with him . I will send all of my friends to Doug for their eyewear goods . I have 45 years in retail , and a business owner in St. Augustine .
