This is the first time that I had Ethiopian cuisine, and I loved it. The portions were actually pretty big, and I was surprised at the affordable prices. The restaurant itself is classy, and they had a live R&B performance. Looks like the play Jazz there too sometimes.

Rasselas has super tasty ethiopian selections and, even better, live performances to boot. The first Saturday of each month they have a recurring musician that is a must see. Great for an entertaining date night.

Ok. All im going to say is this. Usually if i drive all the way from Berkeley to the city on a monday night im just bored. I only went for the jam session. The waitress or owner im not sure but she looked ethiopian seemed annoyed that i didnt buy drinks immediately. I was trying to explain that i had just eaten and was gonna jam and buy drinks later but the conversation just didnt get that far. The music was ok if you like traditional jazz. Listening to hiphop and funk a lot i probably got bored then after the drink incident i just left. Usually i get paid to play music so i was little shocked that i was getting brow beat over two drinks when i left my expensive music studio to come jam but anyway. Im probably just high maintenance. Go check out the ethiopian food. Im sure its good. And make sure you look like youre going to buy the two drink minimum if its monday night or you might get set straight. Haha. Sigh.........

Only went for a beer. The atmosphere was nice but I will have to revisit the rating once I see a jazz show here.
