Now open in Philadelphia's Fishtown.

Story

The Fillmore Philadelphia.

As part of the continued revitalization of iconic Fishtown, one of the city’s historic addresses, the legendary Ajax Metal Factory has been transformed from a pounding WWI munitions machine constructed over 100 years ago into a beautiful pounding music machine of a different sort, 2015-style.

What a difference 100 years makes. “A music hall to top all music halls.”

Honoring the legendary traditions of Fillmore music halls around the country, the 2,500-capacity venue showcases incredible state-of-the-art production, vintage poster art, VIP amenities and friendly hospitality that celebrates the live concert experience.

The original Fillmore is one of this country’s landmark performing stages and first opened in San Francisco in 1965. That Fillmore was the focal point of the psychedelic music scene during the 1960s and '70s helping to launch the careers of iconic rock acts such as Grateful Dead; Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Santana, The Doors, The Allman Brothers Band and many, many others which helped it grow into the legend it is today.

“The Fillmore Philadelphia features the best sound system of any club its size, unparalleled sightlines, and remarkable food and beverage, making it more than a place for a concert. It will be a true experience,” said Ron Bension, President of Live Nation’s House of Blues Entertainment Division.

Philly’s Fillmore features a wide range of upscale, craft and local beverages and a full menu of local favorites like brats and burgers and cheese steaks as well as charcuteries and cheese plates.

The venue also features a “club within the club.” An intimate, second live music club, The Foundry, located on the top floor of The Fillmore. Featuring state-of-the-art lights and sound, concert goers can dance and get close to the stage in an energizing 450-capacity space that showcases singer/songwriters, local acts, DJs and up-and-coming national touring bands.

The Foundry is also a lively and upscale lounge and bar where guests can enjoy VIP service and enhanced benefits as part of their concert event. Located on the second floor of the venue with its own private entry, this intimate and exclusive lounge features top-tier cocktails and craft beers, exceptional service and an extensive food menu providing guests a comfortable place to hang and relax before, during and after our concerts. Dedicated bar service, friendly hospitality, comfortable seating and private restrooms are some of the first-class amenities fans can enjoy.

The Foundry connects directly to club boxes and the best seats in the house on the mezzanine level of The Fillmore providing in-seat food, beverage and bottle service and amazing sightlines. Fans looking to enhance their concert experience can create what Bension said is “an unforgettable night of entertainment.”

What a cute little venue! The bar is great and there is plenty of room to hang out before the show. The floor is spacious and we had a great view, I only wished that there was a place to sit down about halfway through the show. I wonder if premium upstairs tickets would have been worth the extra cost? Otherwise parking was easy (if not free,) the show was fun, and we had a great time. I'd recommend The Fillmore for almost anyone.

This was the best venue that I have ever been to! I have to say that I was hesitant to get in line when we got there. It is in a remote, run down part of town, but once inside the sound, atmosphere, and food and drinks were wonderful. I cannot say enough about how incredible the staff were, especially Aaron. They went out of their way to accomodate my group, who had some special needs. I will definitely be going back and recommending to others.

Great place to see any show! We even upgraded to the upper level so had the option of sitting rather than standing the entire show. It's something you think about when you get older. Nice to have the option! Excellent venue for a live show!

This place really knows how to run a venue. All the annoying parts about concerts dont apply here. The bar is accessible from pretty much anywhere, they get you in quickly, and have a smoking section. I'd prefer to go here over venues in the same area.

I wanted to give kudos to the staff at the Fillmore. My teen kids and I drove from just outside DC up to Philly for the All Time Low show on 7-20-17. I have spinal stenosis and problems with my legs and knees. Standing for long periods is a real painful problem. And I was concerned about all this as this show was a non-seated event. We went in for the band's autograph signing after waiting on line outside for about 90 minutes. By the time we got inside, my back and legs were burning. I touched base with Steve- the head of guest services- to inquire about being able to sit somewhere during the show. Steve told me to just check in with him when we entered the venue for the show, and he would make sure that I was accommodated. Following the autograph signing, ticket holders were led back outside to wait in a line to enter the theater when the doors officially opened for the concert. Because I was already in so much pain, I asked if I could sit for a while on a couch in the theater lobby to get off my feet for a while, and Steve generously obliged, even though nobody was supposed to be allowed to remain inside at that point. Steve allowed me to stay for as long as he possibly could before clearing the area for security reasons prior to the doors opening. This was a huge help, as I was able to take the pressure off of my back and legs for a while. And the air conditioning didn't hurt, either. Once the doors officially opened, I headed toward Steve as directed. Not only did he remember me, but he called me by name, and immediately sent me to another guest services staffer, Kathleen, so she could escort me to the ADA section. I was given a choice of sitting on the main level or upstairs, and I chose upstairs to be a little bit separated from the throngs of people on the floor. Kathleen took me upstairs on an elevator, and led me to the ADA seating. Not only did I get a seat, but it was a padded seat, and also boasted a very good view of the stage. Everyone I encountered in guest services could not have been nicer or more helpful. And while seated, a wonderful young lady named Dominique came around a number of times to check on me and took an order for some food which she delivered right to my seat. I will say this: Given that people were standing in line for nearly four hours (you had to be in line by 2:30 PM for the autograph signing; doors for the show opened at around 6 PM), the Fillmore should really consider having a space, either inside or outside, for the physically challenged who cannot stand for that amount of time, or who may suffer from extended periods of standing in line. I realize that the obvious downside to this is that everyone in line would want to take a seat. Also, while I very much appreciate the seating, the chairs were not very comfortable, and had fixed arms, which can be an issue for people of size. I think the venue could revisit these issues. Yet I am grateful for the accommodation that I was given. As for the venue, it is nice, it is cool, and it is spacious. Good sound, ample refreshment areas, and good rest room space. The Fillmore in Philly is head and shoulders above the Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD, which is close to our home. I made a point of finding Steve after the show to express my gratitude to him and his staff. Steve was very glad that everything worked out well. And he pointed out that, "We want to treat people the way we would like to be treated." Thank you, Steve. Mission accomplished!
