When I used to call the SCREC I always got a friendly and happy person, today the person seemed that I was bothering her. I was first licensed in 1986. Maybe they don't like the OGs? It is a public job and dealing with the public can be tough sometimes but we as Realtors do too. It was an easy question...
I tried contacting the Real Estate Commission about a Real Estate related concern and was told. "I can't help you call a Real Estate Attorney ". I then pressed her to speak with someone else and was told that the person who could answer questions was no longer there! So you mean to tell me an entire office known as the Real Estate Commission has no one there who can answer a simple Real Estate question? I need to go pay an attorney to answer a question that could normally be answered by them. So get paid but don't work!
Probably the worst customer service in existence. I called to confirm information that was written on the website and with it came a follow up question of "Why do SC residents need an extra 30 hours of class, and licensed persons from other states who practice in SC don't", mind you I try and be as nice as I can because I know being on the phones is never fun, in turn I got an extremely sassy answer that went like "We have lots of agents from other states that practice here, because you live here you need the 30 hours, if you don't like if you can write to your congressman". I was in no way blaming the woman for this specific rule, I was just trying to get an understanding as to why this isn't applicable to everyone practicing in SC, ESPECIALLY those out of state. Hoping to never have to call again.
Emailed, and still no reply within a week. Called and hit "6" for representative as phone system said, and the person who answered told me I had to speak with some investigation services. There should be a M easier way to determine what and who is responsible in a major real estate issue. The present system is 0% helpful.
If I could give them 0 stars I would, what a terrible costumer service, Jessica Brand without having a contract with us took advantage of the situation, we got 0 help while finding our house but she is making sure to make a commission that wasn't meant for her, and for which she didn't work. BE SMART AND CHOOSE WISELY, look for a place that is professional and respects clients rights.
Thank you, to Betty and Wanda. And the South Carolina Commissioners Office. Thank you, for helping me diligently and answering all of the questions I had. It has been my dream to become an agent and you just helped my dreams become more tangible to me. For that I will forever be thankful.
Licensing procedures coming from another state are archaic and ridiculous. After working toward getting licensed for over five months and waiting to be notified on status with claimed e-mails that were never received I am giving up. Although the office personal that handle things on the phone are usually friendly, they have no ability or ultimate desire to help and or offer solutions other than to start the process over again. Bureaucracy at it absolute worse.
Sarah at SC Real Estate Commission offered excellent information and customer service! SCREC really shows true Southern Hospitality. Excellent organization!
The person who answered the phone had a very bad attitude. Customer service is a key factor when dealing with the public. Never experienced this type of treatment before when calling. Everyone has always been pleasant especially Ms. Lambright. Not sure who the new receptionist is but management needs to speak with her regarding her attitude.
I rarely ever write reviews but I wanted to be one of the few positive ones! I spoke with Betty Archie and she was very friendly and patient with all the questions I had, and helped me get all the info I needed! So if you’re seeing this, thank you again!
