Story

Founded in 1992, the Real Estate Institute was started by Alan Toban, a licensed real estate broker and instructor, whose 30 years of experience in real estate and finance have made him a true leader in Illinois real estate education. Known for outstanding customer service and one-on-one instructor assistance the Real Estate Institute was originally started to meet the licensing and continuing education requirements established by the state for real estate professionals. The company has always stressed customer service which has led to its growth as a provider of continuing education for insurance producers, pre-license and continuing education for mortgage loan originators and continuing education for attorneys in addition to real estate.

I do not recommend this place to anyone new born students. In the classroom they only read the book very fast and you don't have a time to understand. They go so fast like 3 chapters in 3 hours if you decide to take 8 weeks couse. You need to do the 24 plactice exams online and then the 6 exams. The 24 practice exam questions are totally different that the 6 real exams. And if you try to practice in your book the questions are different too. I mean you are answering questions that you haven't practice before. So, my best advice for you guys. Go to any community college or any university. It's going to cost you more but they will teach you with a reasonable time. I think  real estate world is a lot information and you not going to catch within 8 weeks or 2 weeks. For this institute is a great deal because if you don't pass the course you have to repay $630.00 for other 2 weeks or 8 weeks. Anyways I just pay for a bad experience and rushing time

I completed my Pre-License Course in January and called on January 24 requesting a letter so I can take the exam.  The letter never arrived and I called again on February 20 to report I never received the letter and the representative I spoke with said there was not a record that I had even called on January 24.  I told him of the conversation I had with the representative on the 24th and that she even mentioned I would take the test at a specific testing center in my community and she would send me the letter and the testing center would be sent the testing materials.  The representative told me on February 20 that he would have the letter sent next day mail on the 21st.  I have never received the letter and I understand this is a chronic practice for the organization.  I have several colleagues who report that they had to call numerous times about getting the letter we need to take the test.  At this point, I would not recommend this institute to others who need to take courses required for licensing.

I've been a Realtor for 20+ years and this is the only place I go to for real estate continuing education or licensing. They offer a variety of classes from online to in the school to self-study with a proctored exam. Besides being very good at presenting the material I  believe they are also the cheapest.

I attended the fast track course at real estate institute started Jan. 9th. and passed my state exam on Feb. 1st.  It was an intense course but I have learned a great deal from those two weeks. Instructors are very knowledgeable and supportive.  Real estate institute offers timely help even when you have questions outside the classroom. I am very thankful for those instructors, support staffs and friends met in the class. Good luck to everyone!

Cost effective and well managed insurance CE programs.  I have used Real Estate Institute repeatedly for my IL licensing needs.  The IL required Ethics class seems to get better each time and taking the two tests on line was a snap.
