I’m definitely amazed. Tasty and authentic Chinese food. Their is phenomenal! It’s probably the best I’ve had in recent years. High is very authentic too. Definitely a hidden gem in Salt Lake City. I’m from Chicago where Chinese food is pretty good, and I can totally see this restaurant fitting in Chicago Chinatown as a top place without doubt. Besides food, the service is very good too. Our server checked in with us a couple of times, and she is fun and friendly. And 4 dishes only cost us $48 after tax. Amazing price.
How to describe our experience here is, well, maddening. I figured that with so many fantastic reviews it must be good. I think it could be, but for now I can't rate it any better than mediocre. The first evidence was on the sidewalk, before we even entered the building. I should have been paying attention, but wasn't, so I completely missed this until we were leaving. As you can see in the picture the entrance is beyond dirty. The amount of grease that has walked out this entrance, and never been cleaned, is astounding. If this is how the entrance looks, just imagine how the areas you can't see look. I wanted to order something that I figured I would like, such as Mongolian beef, but decided to order something that didn't show up in any reviews for them. I ordered the curry beef as it comes with veggies. My spouse ordered the lemon chicken with an upgrade to ham fried rice. The ham fried rice upgrade is rather costly, but we wanted to see if it was worth the extra dough. Within two minutes a server brought out some wonton's and spring rolls to us telling us to enjoy the appetizers. At first I thought that maybe we had ordered a meal that came with appetizers, but there was so much there, it had to be a mistake. Within another two minutes she brought a soup. We explained we hadn't ordered any soup or appetizers. The server took the food away. It appeared the table nearest our booth had ordered the food as they soon had soup, wonton's, and spring rolls on their table. Our food came out a few minutes later. The lemon chicken looked amazing. It was drenched in sauce, but was fried perfectly, so it was super crispy. The sauce was super sweet, so just be sure, if you get it, to mix it with enough rice so as to not overpower the rest of the food. We both enjoyed the chicken. The ham fried rice it came with was so so. I can't say it was worth the price of the upgrade. Normally ham fried rice is made with cold or even day old rice. The grains are separate, tender, and tasty. The flavor of this was decent. However, the rice was mush. It seemed like they cooked already hot rice even longer to make it ham fried. The curry beef was piping hot and came out with a small bowl of white rice. This rice was mushy. Both rice dishes were so mushy you could see the grains splitting apart. The aroma from the curry beef was inviting, almost tantalizing. After one taste of the sauce I knew I had made a mistake in my order. It seemed the curry sauce used beef gravy, like you might get in an American diner, flavored with curry. It tasted ok, but had no semblance of being anything oriental. I never add soy sauce to a dish, but a few splashes into the beef vastly improved the flavor. This restaurant seems like with a few small improvements to detail and food it could be a fantastic place to eat, but for now it's not a place I feel I can recommend.
The Beef chow Fun was SoOoo good!! Sesame chicken was on the sweeter side for my taste, but the crisp level was perfection! Perfect for a quick lunch with the team!
This is the by far the BEST Chinese food in SLC area. The portion of the dishes are very generous, and more importantly everything tastes great and authentic!!
Food is delicious and not bad for the price. Will continue to order from here. You will not be disappointed.
I love this place and have eaten takeout here for years. It is my personal go-to Chinese place. My favorite order is General Tso’s with lo mein and sesame balls. Delivery is always fast and polite, but today they went above and beyond when I placed a much-needed order 10 minutes before close. I ordered online and honestly expected an email declining my order or for the delivery person to be frustrated with me, but the delivery was fast and polite and the food was as great as always. It’s just a good, inexpensive and easy spot!
Lovely service. Awesome food! Definitely will come back again!Recommended dishesSpicy Boiled Fish, Lamb Kabob, Spicy Beef Hot Pot
their menu is the rare combination of usual American-Chinese options & Szechuan dishes, all very well done - & kind owners to boot. takeout was well-packed, prices are totally reasonable given the portion sizes. standouts were the Diced Chicken w/ Hot Chili, Cumin Lamb, & General Tao’s Chicken.
We used to love this place. But lately, their food is just DISGUSTING! They serve wonton soup with rotten smelling meat in it.The batter is uncooked for the sweet and sour chk, just DISAPPOINTING! The KOU KOREAN BBQ, provided better food with decent pricing!
Nice, tasty dishes. Amazing Pot Stickers, Beef Foo Yung and Dragon Shrimp that I requested to be made mild...which they perfectly, accommodated. Clean restaurant and bathroom. Pleasant servers. I'll definitely, go back and try more of their menu!
