I don't often shop here because the local Bozeman outdoor retailers have consistently better service and prices but I had to go there today to exchange a pair of gloves my son got me for Christmas. He couldn't find the receipt but I told him it would be fine because stores don't need it unless a refund is wanted. I didn't want a refund or even a different item. Just exactly the same item in a different size. REI wouldn't even exchange without a receipt so now I have a very disappointed son and I end up with no Christmas gift from him. I know that they are a huge corporation and can set any arbitrary policies that they want but the least they could do is warn people at the time of purchase that they have much stricter exchange policies than most other stores.

Always a good experience here. Knowledgeable staff, good products. If you like to be outside to camp or hike they'll have what you want.

Canceled a 16 year membership over the way i was just treated. Bozeman bike and ski shop. Extremely rude! after their baby fit about being late picking up a pair of bikes. I see they did not even complete one the repairs in question. But they charged me for it! When i asked the guy why is this not fixed, he said not a word, gave a dirty look and sat there in his skinny jeans. The few bucks is not the problem. HERE'S A TIP REI BOZO. If your going to pitch a little baby fit about the delayed pick up by a member, at least make sure the work is done.
