Story

Opening a warehouse for reusable building materials was a natural step for its’ owners. With a sincere belief of reducing the amount of waste that is taken to our landfills every single day, the obvious idea was to have a vested interest in the entire process of deconstruction. From removal of materials, to onsite auctions, the owners realized the missing piece was creating a retail location for all reusable materials that could be sold affordably to the general public.

I agree with Jon, below — it's way, way better than Salvage One… but then again, it's kind of a different type of salvage place, too. Salvage One definitely has more stuff (and more *unique* pieces / things of truly high worth (antique or collectible). By contrast, the ReUse Depot is more in the vein of a Habitat for Humanity Restore, or closer still: the Rebuilding Exchange on Webster Ave. To me, Salvage One is kind of a curiosity shop… but not a place I'd expect to find any kind of deals, nor a place I'd go to for DIY projects. The ReUse Center *is* the type of place a DIY'er would find the supplies and inspiration to actually make cool stuff. They also have a *fantastic* selection of fixtures (lighting, sinks/tubs/etc.), and a phenomenal lumber and landscaping/roofing inventory.

WAYYYYY better than Salvage One. Not as much 'stuff' but friendlier, and the prices are not outrageous.

A lot of cool unique stuff, but prices are outrageous. Everything is overpriced. They rather let items rott on shelves then to bargain a good price with you!!
