Story

In 1958, after years of working in the automotive business, brothers Jay and Sonny Richards came to Baton Rouge to pursue a dream of opening their own car dealership. They chose North Street in downtown Baton Rouge as the site of their first dealership, Richards Ford. A decade later, Richards Ford moved their operations to an expanded facility on Florida Blvd to better serve their customers. That dealership would soon become one of the largest Ford dealerships in the South.

After years of success overseas, Honda introduced an American branch of their operations in the early 1970s. They began contacting successful dealers across the country, including the Richards family, in hopes of establishing a dealer network nationwide. The Richards family immediately saw the potential with the Honda brand and in 1971 they accepted the offer to become one of first Honda dealerships in the South.

Today, after over 45 years of serving the Baton Rouge and surrounding areas, Richards Honda has earned their place as the most experienced Honda dealer in the area.
