Richmond Road Veterinary Clinic is a full service companion animal hospital located in Lexington, Kentucky. We have been at our current location since 1981. It is our commitment to provide quality veterinary care throughout the life of your pet. Our services and facilities are designed to assist in routine preventive care for young, healthy pets; early detection and treatment of disease as your pet ages; and complete medical and surgical care as necessary during your pet's lifetime.

Staff and Dr. Smith are the best! We recently had both our dogs neutered and spayed and they were great. I felt totally confident they would completely care for our dogs. Dr. Smith was available for several follow up calls during office hours and after office hours to answer questions. He also called us to make sure the dogs were doing alright. I would highly recommend Richmond Road Veterinary Clinic!

Fabulous!  The staff is friendly and the vet's take the time to really give your pet a thorough exam and explain everything in detail to you.  They are also mindful of cost.  If you are planning a procedure (like a teeth cleaning, etc.), they print out a detailed estimate so you won't be shocked by the charges.  I recommend you bring your pets here for care!

Maddie and I are so excited that we have a new family and it's the staff at Richmond Road Veterinary Clinic.   Our first time there was this past Saturday and from the moment we walked in, we had never felt so welcome.  They made Maddie feel so special by posting her name on the board and she was front and center!  Our vet, Dr. Zu even called us the next day to check on Maddie.  This staff and this operation is very special and I will recommend them to everyone i know!  We love Richmond Road Veterinary Clinic!

I currently have 4 beagles (all rescue) that our part of our family. Dr. Kevin Smith has been our vet and treated every one of them for 11+ years. My latest beagle that I rescued 3 months ago Merlot has multiple health issues. Dr. Smith has been very aggressive in her treatment and calls me every other day including the weekends to check on her progress, and when he is busy Dr. Holaday will call to check in also. I couldn't ask for a more professional and passionate vet. I am very lucky to have him in our family.

I went to Richmond Road Vet Clinic with my elderly Labrador Sarah, for a second opinion.  The vet was marvelous, and gave me detailed information and confirmed what the other vet had said about the cancer.  Dr. Smith drained the lump but warned me that time was running very short.  The vet called a few days later to check on his patient.  Sarah was 13 years and 8 months old and very alert, and well except for the cancer.  The tumor burst a couple of weeks later, and I took Sarah back for her final visit as we could not stop the bleeding.  The whole office was very kind, I was given all the time I needed with her. The vet then called me the next day to see how I was doing,  Their kindness and efficiency was thorough, including a donation to Lexington Humane in memory of Sarah, and a sympathy card.  I have never had a vet so tuned in to the loss of a beloved friend that they cared about me before.  I cannot say enough good things about this vet clinic!!  My cats will be coming here when they next need to visit a vet.
