It seemed like a nice place the service was good when I went, and the food made me feel right at home. But then I ran into someone who use to work there, we were chatting at her other job, she told me she could never see the place the same again after working there. Turns out if a guest walks their tab or makes a mistake they have a policy that makes server pay for it out of their tip money. Then she explained and showed me proof that it was illegal. Sadly I don't blame her. So even though it was nice, I just can't get behind a restaurant that does that to their customers.

I'm sorry to say but the service needs a pick me up. The food and drinks are wonderful. However, some of the staff make this place so unwelcoming that I'd rather eat somewhere else. I work in the area and if you come in past 9pm people are ready to go home! They literally bring you your order with a frown on their face. A couple of nights ago my co workers and I came in right at 10 and they wouldn't serve us anything even though there were still customers at the bar and tables. We kindly said ok and came back the next night around 9:30. We were reminded several times about the closing time, the kitchen closing time, and the closing time again. It was my birthday so my friends wanted to split my ticket. There was some confusion about who was paying what and the server kept all our change and took home a nice tip. We left a little confused but we are in the service industry so we just said hell just leave it be. This is not the first time we have come into this type of atmosphere. Some of the servers seem to hate what they are doing. I wish it was more upbeat and customer based. I want to love it and come more often because the food/drinks are great.

Rio Mambo is always busy.  Folks seem to like it, but we won't go back.  The service was horrid.  Our waitress was new, but management thought she was ready when she had no idea what was on then menu, didn't know what wine was, and brought side guacamole because she didn't know there was an appetizer table side version.  What does that say about how much management cares?  LOUD....Rio Mambo was very, very loud.  And dark.  Dark like the whole restaurant was dirty like the bathrooms.  Yuck.

We love Rio Mambo! The staff is always very nice and provide excellent service.  The food is delicious and there is a good variety on the menu.

I went in this trip to assist my mother as runner for favor since she want feeling well.  The atmosphere is great and it smells wonderful.  They meet the time limit they set for the order which is perfect. The staff is friendly and happy and i will be back to eat nect time. 😁
