While our son was testing at Emory University, we decided to go have breakfast as we waited. As we walk through the beautiful campus of Emory we came across this breakfast restaurant. I didn't expect the line to be outside the door but they do offer coffee while you wait. Although it's not complimentary it is unlimited and tasty so it is worth the price. I ordered the sweet potato pancakes, grits with sage and quinoa, and house-made sausage. I couldn't imagine the taste of sage grits so this was a must order. I was very excited about this new experience. I am very happy that I chose to try to Grits because they were absolutely delicious. The sweet potato pancakes is probably the best I've ever had but the house-made sausage was a little too flavorful for my liking. I'm usually a fan of seasonings and herbs but this was a little overpowering. The price was good. We didn't pay more than $8 and we were able to mix and match what we wanted to order. Very cute quaint atmosphere inside and out. The seating is a little tight but there is enough room. Something to try when in the area.

No wait on a Monday morning, but seeing how small the interior space is, no way I'd come on a weekend! The meal was good, nothing really to write home about except their homemade strawberry jam which was amazing! I was very disappointed in their grits however, way too watery and bland. When I mentioned it to the server though, she instantly offered to remove it from the bill. Based on my personal taste in grits and other breakfast foods, I'd still go to the Flying Biscuit or Home Grown over this place, but the service here was really outstanding. Really saved the dining experience.

I had never had a meal here before but I'm glad I did. Everything was great from food to service. The staff was like a well oiled machine. The scenery was very nice as well. Great place to have dinner with mom family or romantic lunch

A quaint little breakfast place in Emory village I like frequenting with friends and family. The menu is well done and coffee is good. I like the wait staff as they always have a smiling friendly face. The waiting time especially on weekends can be long as this is a popular spot and they don't take reservations. The food quality and quantity is good. My only complain is that last time I tried the Emory omelette and it was more like a soup. A little tip is that the spinach and the mushrooms must be sauteed well before putting in the eggs or they can result in too much water coming out later, which was the case in mine. But anyways, I would visit again! I like this place:)

This was our 3rd visit to Rise-n-Dine and so far my favorite. The first two were on the weekend and the line and wait were crazy long. My boyfriend says the cappuccino is worth the wait. I can't speak to that since I'm not a coffee drinker but I will say the serves has been good and the food has always been above average. Today he got the Greek Scramble and I got 2 scrambled eggs with biscuit and gravy and silver dollar pancakes (2 regular and 2 sweet potato). The biscuit was awesome as were the pancakes (next time I will get all sweet potato because the edges had a crunchy sweetness). The only negative I can say is the gravy tasted bland, almost like it came from a mix but I still cleaned my plate. We will be back.......but only on a weekday.
