Our first visit here was great. Good food, good service, good prices. Our (second) most recent visit was not so good. It took forever to get our food. My daughter and I both got bagel breakfast sandwiches. The waitress stacked them on top of each other so when she went to give them to us the cheese and bacon were stuck to the bottom of the other plate. She proceeded to peel off the cheese and bacon with her (ungloved) fingers and put it back on the sandwich and was going to serve it to us like that! We also watched her serve food to the wrong table and after it sat for probably 10 minutes in front of those people she took it back and walked it over to the correct table. I'm sure they had cold food, not to mention being touched/breathed on by other people for all that time. I would give this place another try because the breakfast is good but if I got the same waitress I'd run, not walk to another table.

Great Service, great location, great host and waitresses but food is mediocre. Better breakfast then lunch or dinner items. Prices are reasonable. Open 24/7! Best marshmallow filled, whip cream topped hot chocolate ive ever had in my 35 years on earth!!!!

This place is hit or miss depending on what you order. It's great for breakfast and the breakfast prices are reasonable. The lunch and dinner prices are rather expensive for a place that is kind of a dive. They do have daily 'specials' but even those prices are high.  The menu has a nice variety of items but like I said it's hit or miss.  Some dishes seem homemade and some seem like they came out of a can.  The waitresses wear nurse scrubs which is extremely weird; you don't know if they want your order or to draw your blood.  Some of the waitresses are nice and polite while others are not. The older lady and man that usually work the register are kinda grumpy and nasty.  

Try and use a bathroom prior to getting there, or wait until you leave.  You've been warned!

I love Ritter's but this 24/7 greasy spoon doesn't have the best food (ultimately driving the 3 stars). It's an Oakland fixture, locals come frequently if not daily, and the all day menu has a large variety of dishes. If you get a breakfast bagel with cheese I recommend asking for an extra slice and the Greek hobo omelet is probably the strongest offering. The waitresses are sometimes busy but friendly and I can vouch for the owner operator is an understanding business owner. Cash only and the ATM is sometimes on the fritz. If you sit at a booth there are old school juke boxes you might want to try.

🔥🔥🔥 I just kinda wish the omelets were a little bigger.  The hot cakes fill ya up quick 🤤🤤 I've been going here since a kid and I still get that old school vibe when I eat there. Love the environment and the waitresses too!!
