My dog is my kid, and River Valley understands and treats him that way as well! Beau has seen every vet there, and they're all great! He currently sees Dr. Miller, who was able to get his tricky tummy issues under control (that he'd been battling for years). I worked on both the veterinary and groom and board side for a few years and really got to know everyone there. I've worked at a few veterinary clinics in the past, but River Valley by far has had the best standard of care. I no longer work there because I ended up changing career paths, so this is not a biased post. But I will always take Beau here and any future pets because I trust the staff. I've seen the behind the scenes action and how well everyone works together. I also love that this clinic is not "old fashioned". They keep up to date on new protocols, new technology and everyone stays on top of their continuing education, providing the best care for the pets! Medicine is always changing so this is an important detail.

Groom and board is also great! The suites are very nice, and since it's a smaller boarding facility they're able to cater to each pet's individual needs. It's also nice that the building is attached to the veterinary clinic because if there's ever an emergency with a boarding pet, there's usually at least 3 vets and multiple veterinary technicians a hallway away. Even if it's just a little scratch from playing too hard in playgroup, or a broken toenail, it's just a quick visit down the hall and they're good as new. The boarding staff is very knowledgeable on how to handle pets both in playgroup and individually. I take Beau here to be groomed as well and they do an awesome job. Great place to take your pet overall, I would highly recommend it!

We had been with them for several years with our four dogs. At first things were fine and we got what we needed at a higher but reasonable rate. Then the sales pitches started. They wanted to clean my 4 pound dog's teeth under every year putting her under. She was older and I told them the risks did not outweigh the benefits. I'm so glad I listened because her heart wasn't very good and putting her under would have taken her most likely. Then I wanted to get the yearly check ups done and they presented me with an estimate of thousands of dollars per dog! I love my dogs but my kid's early check up doesn't cost that much! I brought them to a new vet who did everything for under $300 for all of them. They even told me that my dogs teeth were in good shape, so they were full of it.  I had an issue arrive where two of my dogs were missing a vaccine. I sucked it up and had my husband call in to see if they could do it. They refused unless we brought in our dogs to stay overnight for observation. What a sham!
