Story

Tybee Island, often referred to as Savannah’s Beach, offers visitors a place for all seasons with sandy beaches, great fishing, and rich history at every turn. River's End Campground is a fantastic home base for exploring it all. We're just 1.5 short blocks from the beach and an easy 15 mile drive to historic downtown Savannah.

We have over 100 sites that offer services ranging from full hook-up capacity with water and sewer and free cable, to water and electric service only, as well as primitive tent camping sites. Some, but not all water-electric sites also have free cable. We offer complimentary Wi-Fi for those who enjoy net surfing from their RV or picnic table.

There are many amenities, and everything seemed to be clean and in good working order. The hosts and staff were readily available, and all very friendly. The location is great. If I had to complain about something, I would say the campsites are on the small side. There is a 2 vehicle maximum for a reason. And I was a little disappointed that I was placed on the main road, but I knew there was a chance that would happen, and I didn't request anything different. On the plus side it was very easy to pull through. Overall, I was very impressed.

This is a very nice campground. I don't think there is a bad spot in the whole park and there are some really good ones. Lots of trees provide shade. Park is well maintained and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I would definitely return here on another visit

The best thing about this place is the proximity to the beach and a couple good seafood restaurants. The staff welcomed us and escorted us to our spot. I prefer having more room, the RV spots were pretty crammed together and though our spot was more spacious than some, the angle was odd so that the front of our RV window faced directly at the couple next door, their fire pit, and their lawn chairs. Weird. I felt uncomfortable keeping my shades up even during the day because it wasn't a good view. Showers were individual rooms with toilets, which I like because of privacy but the stall is super tiny unless you go to the handicapped one. Pretty clean. Overall I'd go back just knowing now what to expect.

This is an update because River's End has updated! We just stayed in one of their super cute cabins and had a lovely weekend. It was a completely different experience than our visit in 2014. I checked out the primitive camping area and it's been completely updated so that each plot has a raised bed for pitching a tent, plus charcoal grills and picnic tables. It looks really lovely. The jail that was under construction when we were there has now been completed. There is currently a well drilling project directly behind the cabins, so expect noise during the days on weekdays. They get started around 8am. Our cabin was directly in front of the project (which looks like that tower that held the Eye of Sauron) and the noise was not bad at all. You will need to provide everything for your cabin, just as if you were camping. So, bring all bed and bath linens (don't forget a bath mat), all dishes and eating utensils, all cooking equipment (they provide a grill and microwave), all paper products, etc. My only suggestion to the owners would be that they provide bath mats because the area of the flour and wood molding in front of the shower is definitely beginning to rot a bit and eventually it will need replacing if it continues getting wet.
