Stephan Lopez of Riverside Funeral Home in Los Lunas is one of the most compassionate, caring and empathetic people that I have ever met. He not only helped us navigate through the process with grace and compassion, but did a wonderful job of communicating with us and answering questions.
Stephen was tremendously helpful and supportive. He made everything very easy with a good measure of understanding and class. Je made his best effort to have everything go exactly as we wanted it to. The man deserves a commendation.
My brother passed away suddenly and it’s been an extremely difficult time. We had no idea what to expect, but Amanda made everything so easy and smooth. She’s simply amazing! She explained as much or as little as we wanted. She would reexplain as needed as well, which was a lot. She never once seemed annoyed, 100% genuine. She was so patient, kind, and compassionate with my family and myself. She even managed to make us laugh. Though the circumstances were grim, we are so fortunate to have had Amanda there to guide us through. My brother would’ve just loved her.
We had an overall unsatisfying experience with this company. The Los Lunas location has very limited staff. When our loved one passed away on a Thursday we were told that they were closed Friday due to something with the staffs family. Weekends are appointment only to call Albuquerque to schedule an appointment for Saturday. Albuquerque was NO help at all. The lady who answered the phone was a complete joke. The hold time was horrible. We had paper work in out hand that and their staff was unable to locate anything on our family member. Kudos to their Santa Fe location. The staff up there was so nice! I called them 50+miles away and they got it all taken care of for us. You'd think working in this type of field staff would be a little more compassionate with families and they would have staff available at all locations since people pass at all hours of the day.
If I could get away with giving them no stars I would! They charged an expensive amount and the service was terrible! Our loved one wasn't laid out respectfully at all just a gurney and a blanket we didn't have any memorial cards and no listing on their site of his passing! I have no idea what we paid for! Don't take your loved ones to this place they have no respect and will take advantage of your wallet!
Of all the funeral homes I have been to in my 71 years. Riverside is the worst. The people running the place looked like they were attending a resort instead of a funeral home. When I was finally able to view my son. Which took days because of lost paper work they claimed All I can say is my heart broke at the cavalier way he was laid out. These people should find a different profession. Sad enough to loose your son. But to experience the disrespect I can even write a list of it all.
We recently brought our dog to be cremated through Riverside's Pet Cremation service. Barbara the front desk Associate was very kind and helpful. She was also very thorough and answered all of the questions regarding the financial as well as the physical process of cremation. Thank you Riverside Los Lunas for making this difficult process easier.
