Definitely the park of choice in Union County. They have the biggest in best play structures for kids... large grassy areas to walk run or play Frisbee, there's a large covered Pavilion for special events. Plenty of picnic benches scattered around the park. And swimming in the nearby small River.( must attend your own children of course)

Nice park, large pavilion, giant castle playground, smaller toddler playground could be updated and fenced. Wish it had a dog park. Most picnic tables have no shade and only 1 maybe 2 have a grill.

I grew up in La Grande - I'm now 62. One of my fondest memories is of Riverside Park - my first memory of this fun park was when I was maybe 3 years old - under the covered pavilion where the VFW get togethers were held and where I drank my first Pepsi! My mom's 20 year High School reunion was held there, I learned to smoke by the ponds when I was in high school, my own high school Sr BBQ was held there and I took my young son there when he was little. It's changed a lot in the last 40 years - that big monstrosity wasn't there then. The city is trying to make it something it's not. To me it was just a nice place to spend the day - we didn't need anything else.

Great for people to come and have a picnic, play games, or just hang out. Best park around here
