A couple of days ago I was VFR cross country and ran into wx that forced me out of the soup. Big Rapids was close and I had to kill some time there to wait it out.  What a pleasant experience.   The staff was warm and inviting, offering fresh home made cookies and the courtesy car.  Such a pleasure to see a municipal airport where the city invests the time and money for great upkeep on the building and grounds.  Big Rapids is doing it right and it is much appreciated for us wayward pilots.
