Tried this place based on the “best pizza in McLean” review, which only reinforces my theory that people in This area have no concept of good food. This was easily the worst pizza I’ve ever tasted.  I didn’t finish one slice. None of the people working were Italian, and it shows in the food. The dough was passable, but the sauce tasted like it came straight from Sysco, and the cheese was rubbery and stringy at the same time. Awful. The sausage was fatty and tasteless. 
In business since 1977, it’s possible the original Rocco had something good, but it’s gone now. 
My server asked if I wanted a box, I said no and told him very politely what I thought of the pizza. He was very nice, thanked me for my opinion and comped my lunch. I asked if any of it was homemade, and he said they make the dough and sauce in house. If that’s true, they need a new recipe.

I am a regular at this beloved local restaurant where so many have taken the whole family for decades. Friendly, prompt service and I recommend the rigatoni, my fave.

Best Italian on the east coast! And the only Chicago pizza you can find out of the Midwest. At least that's worth a darn.

Great food! I travel all over DC, Maryland, and Virgina for work. Being from Philly I've been trying to find a real Philly cheese steak down here. Well Rocco's has it, among other great Italian food and the best fried calamari!

Great place to eat. Their sauce is wonderful as are their entrees, subs, and pizza!
