As a mother of a child that was put into this facility I am beyond horrified at the treatment my son experienced by the staff.   The first time we met his social worker and the doctor the doctor immediately jumped to wanting to put my son on pills that I specifically told her I was against then we are told by the social worker and I quote I can tell you two were going to be trouble.  That was extremely unprofessional of her.  When I didn't  agree with the doctor and try to express my feelings about what I felt needed to be done she stormed out of the room.  After that the next night I get a call from the nurse saying my son was upset and he wanted to medicate my son for being upset not violent not combative just upset.  Come to find out a nurse had held my son in his room and then got in his face and told him she's not the one he wants to mess with.  She deliberately intimidated my son with an indirect threat.  Every time I call There every single person I spoke to told me something different.  My son was on able to brush his teeth for three days he was not being woke up for breakfast after that he was being fed cold breakfast food like eggs only cold.  There was another patient on his floor who apparently disliked my son because of a verbal argument they had and I was told by the nurse that she is a violent patient.  My son specifically told me that the staff there yells and curses at the patients.  The doctor I felt was extremely unprofessional the day we came to get our son by not wanting to speak to us about our son. The social worker states in front of my son that she will be glad when I'm gone and when they could not find my sons school binder my son said I don't care I just want to leave the social worker then says in front of my son well your mom is going to make a very big deal out of it with an attitude.  My son became scared not only of the patients that he Saw beating up other patients but also of the staff.  Also not one time did anybody ask me for his patient ID number when I called in.  My son also expressed to me that the staff was not consistent in giving him his medication that he actually had to remind them that he had to have his medication.  Over the weekend when I had requested the paperwork be started for us to withdraw our son from the facility I was told quite a few times by different staff members that the doctor could have a judge make my son stay there I felt like this was an intimidation tactic I don't appreciate it my son is not that severe there was no call for it.  I'm putting this out there for every parent who gets on the site to read the reviews please reconsider putting your child in this facility.  I found the staff to be completely incompetent.  After talking to my son more I also found the staff to be in some kind of immature power struggle with the patients and that is not the kind of attitude to have when working in a facility like that.  My husband and I are still considering seeking legal action against this facility for the mistreatment of our son it is because of this facility and the treatment of the staff towards my son that this did not work for him.  Please think long and hard before you put your child into this place.

I was a patient here 2 years ago, and what I went threw was extremely terrible. Instead of helping me with my problems, they hurt me even more. Until this day, I am still scared to tell people how I really feel because I never ever want to go back to this dreadfull place. I was paired with a violent patient who threatened to kill me on many occasions. And when I asked why they paired me with this patient they told me “because we can!!” They had sessions where they would teach techniques to help with anger and it was the same exact thing as what I read off of google. The staff was not the best, they ALWAYS scared the kids, and threatened to give them a shot in their butt to make them scared and to stop acting up. You cannot wear shoes. And the bathrooms are disgusting. There is no door, instead there is a curtain. We have no privacy. The staff cannot control the kids. This is a terrible place for anyone to be in this environment. So if you are considering sending your kids here I personally think, with my best intentions, that you should not send anyone here.

I’m using my boyfriends account because I can’t get into mine this horrible place left me in worse shape Then I was going in still haunts me of the things I went through staff breaking girls arms staff ignoring what goes on around them telling your loved ones who call your in group An never tellin you they called shooting kids with shots because there crying seening 5 girls beat up a little girl An everybody watching this place needs shut down I’m surprised there open please take your love ones to a place that will help

I highly do not reccomend this place to anyone. I was sent here and they madr my life worse, staff were lazy and rude. I was sexually assulted by one of the other patirnts and the staff did nothing. The place was extremely messy and uncleaned. They forced children to eat even if they were sick, they gossipped about patients infront of the other patients. They would even verbally abuse the patients. Please never go here.

This place..... I wish I could physically show people what went on in there, but words will have to do.
        First of all, I was admitted into the adolescent program, for reference. Where to start? When I first got there it looked nice. The waiting room was well kept in shape. The first thing I noticed was the receptionist, she looked like she was in hell, having to say the same thing over, and over. "Rockford Center, Roxanne speaking." The way she talked, and the way she acted..... it seriously looked like she was mentally abused.
       After I was assessed, they said they would gladly accept me. But, there's something very wrong here. There is nothing wrong with me mentally, the reason I was sent here was because of missing school..... For medical reasons. This was already showing me red flags. 
      During the initial goodbyes with my Dad, they had a woman (the only nice one there) bring me to a different part of the building. As soon as you walk in, I saw that the place was disgusting. She took me into the Cafeteria, in which the floors are always sticky. I immediately knew that the place was never cleaned.
      After the first group, we went to the cafeteria again for lunch. I sit with some people who invite me over. In the middle of lunch, a kid whispers to me to come over. He tells me, "Basically I'm 14, smoke weed, and am planning to escape". I'm going to call him Jim. (not his real name) This has nothing to do with Rockford themselves, but It's important later.
    The second day, in the middle of the first group, Jim and I get drug tested. I go first because he asked me to leave piss in the toilet for him to use. I, of course, piss for him, because I enjoy helping people out. The nurse didn't even bother to go in and flush the toilet. A little bit after this, a girl comes in, and reeks of weed. You can obviously tell she is high. Guess what staff did about it? Nothing.
     The third day, A girl had an episode and even told staff that she didn't take her medicine. Instead of helping the girl, they send her straight to impatient. Jim and I end up getting into an altercation. He sucker punches me in the face. Guess what the staff did? Nothing.
      The rest of the story is entirely boring, because nothing happened, other than the awful conditions they had there. 
     Never go to Rockford, There's a reason on all the walls it says "This is hell".
