I have done business with Rocky Mountain Upholstery for many years. They have done a number of projects for me. I have had them recover pieces and custom build pieces I have seen on websites like Pottery Barn and Ethan Allen. The quality of their work surpasses anything I have had done by other company's. They are very precise about their work, and bend over backwards to get every job right. I have never had any kind of issue or problem with this company. In my opinion they are the best in the valley and would recommend them to anyone who wants high quality, long lasting upholstery work done.

I hired Rocky Mountain Upholstery to custom make some dining chairs. I provided him a picture of the chair (from Restoration Hardware) and a bolt of fabric. He assured me that they could replicate the design. Unfortunately they did not turn out the same as the ones in the picture. The back should have been narrower at the top and taper out as it wrapped around the seat, instead it was wide at the top and came straight down. The back legs were suppose to curve out, but they don't and the finish on them is less than adequate (it's rough and poorly stained). He also patched areas on the sides of the chair with triangle-shaped pieces of fabric with the nap going different directions so it doesn't match. Finally, the chairs were not suppose to have arms, but the do, making the seat area narrower than it should be. The part that makes me the sickest about the whole experience is that I paid $425 per chair! For that price I could have bought some nice, high quality chairs from Ethan Allen. Live and learn. Perhaps they bit off a little more than they could chew. He would probably be fine for simple projects, but I wouldn't recommend him for anything custom. You'll end up being sorry.
