I'm a little embarrassed how long I've lived in New England and that I never visited Roger Williams Park until this past year. The most surprising part for me was the size of the park. The grounds are enormous and the park includes a zoo, lake, botanical gardens, Japanese Gardens, and more. You could explore this park all day, and there is plenty to do for the whole family. Very well maintained, beautiful, and worth the stop if you are in the area.

Lovely park to stroll around on a lazy Saturday. My family and I were in town for the weekend and decided to take a walk around this park. Took us about a 2.5-3 hr to walk around the park at a leisurely pace. En route we passed by some structures, the rose garden, the Japanese garden, the carousel village, and lots of people fishing by the lake. Highly recommended if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city and enjoy nature.

My twins always have enjoyed R.W.P & Zoo everytime we come regardless of which activities they or my wife & I pick for the day. There is so much to do, if u truly know this park inside and out as I do, that your family could come here for 7 days in a row and just about finish everything. If u walk it to save gas, bring your own food and drinks, plus use coupons and AAA specials, it could be less than $100 spend the entire week, the zoo being the most expensive part and roughly 35-50% depending on what u use to buy tickets. That without it, u could spend $7/per day for the WHOLE family (of 4), that's less than $2 person per day. Now, try to find a place that u can do that for the entire week, be satisfied and not even do the same thing over and over if u so choose to explore. But that's also the key, exploring, there are boat rides; pirate/ swan/ even duck tours/ if u have yr own, fishing/ kayaking/ toy gas, electric boats. A suitable playground to go to everyday with mini, horse, camel, carousel, train rides etc. Visit the Zoo, a given. Horse stables for prov. finest and company. Gardens all over. Trails to traverse in and all around the park. Tennis courts. Baseball/Softball field. Plenty of biking. Amplified theater, if u like to play almost any instrument. Monuments, all around to see about various RI history. A casino for the occasional job fair and other hosted events. A Museum with the elusive, renovated planetarium that most people have no idea about. Have a reunion/ family / birthday/ company party? Rent an area out and (grab a permit). Plus a few more hidden gems to explore i wont mention, etc. So need to relax for the weekend or even a couple? Bring everyone, even the grandparents and the baby some free perks might help you out, there. Bring a blanket have a picnic or just lay back and sun bathe. Enjoy!!!

Roger Williams brings many wonderful memories, with many new additions. I loved the signage, bike and walking paths. However they could do a better job if the side walks and lawn maintenance throughout the park.
