Edit: the website still does not have the links fixed for downloading anything other than the English rider's guide. The website is not well set up. They have links for the rider's guide in Spanish and English and a link for the application. All three of these links download the English rider's guide. I had to call the office. They mailed me a copy of the application. For a service for disabled people, they sure aren't disability friendly. There is no way to electronically fill out the application, nor a way to electronically submit it. You have to take a portion of the application to a physician you see, and when they're done you have to retrieve it so you can send your portion and the physician portion in the mail in the same envelope. They will not accept faxed or emailed applications. As someone who can't drive because of their disabilities and who has many medical providers who treat different issues in my body, this process is completely inconvenient and difficult to complete.
Wonderful source for rides for individuals with special needs, however the staff on the phone are incredibly rude. At first I assumed it was maybe just one person having a bad day, but EVERY single time we call to organize services for our individuals, we are treated poorly. The disrespect would not feel nearly as intentional, if the change of tone from loud and shrill didn't suddenly turn to condescending and over-friendly for the "have a GREAT day!!!" at the end. It is clear that you are not worth their her time and if you are asked a question, you are surely to be cut off with a raised voice before having the chance to fully respond. Again, this is 7, 8, 9 times we've had this experience. Hopefully this is not a reflection of how your drivers treat the riders, because these individuals deserve fair treatment too.
I love using Valley Lift! It's the best way to travel for people who have medical or physical disabilities, and can't use the local RVTD bus service. They offer rides to a doctor's appointment, a trip to the grocery store, the farmer's market, or even to the movies. The drivers are helpful and friendly. The people at the Call Center was wonderful. Your physician can help you with the simple application needed to use this service. Fares is only $4.00 for each ride. Much cheaper than a taxi. Hours of operation: Monday - Saturday; 8AM - 8PM. Call or check website for area of service.
Why do you park across blocking handicap parking spaces
Just super rude drivers
