Despite the many reviews about how slow the service is, we decided to stop here on the way to the zoo at 9:30 on a Sunday morning to grab breakfast sandwiches to go. There was only one group of three people ahead of us before we placed our order, and three people waiting for their already placed orders. 40 minutes later- we walked out of the smoke-filled (apparently this is normal) restaurant with our two breakfast sandwiches. The wait was unbelievable- and the sandwiches were just OK. The counter girl was nice, and trying to make up for the fact that the kitchen clearly were totally unable to juggle both the phone orders and the in-house orders, as no orders would seemingly leave the kitchen for 15 minutes- while all the people waiting were wondering what the hell was going on. Needless to say, we won't be going back.

Good but small. I've gotten some stale bagels and some watery yogurt there, so freshness is sometimes an issue, but if you're there after 9am it's spot on. Great sammies, and quick service!

In a city full of unhealthy sandwiches, Ryebread Cafe stands out as a healthy but still delicious option. The sandwiches are named after cities: I loved my Savannah.

If there's no line, a great spot to pop in and get a sandwich and coffee. You won't be disappointed. But if you see a line, just keep going. It can be painfully slow, and unless it's a nice day the shop doesn't offer much room for people standing and waiting (a couple of small tables). I've waited up to 45 min on a couple of occasions for a sandwich, so I'd recommend picking and choosing your spots. The sandwiches are very good, but I don't know if they're that good if the wait is involved. The staff is always really friendly for what it's worth.
