I used to love their mussels, not anymore. Tonight I ordered mussels as usual, and the last one in my bowl was closed but I decided to open it anyway; look what I find. It's filled with dark slimy stuff! I was instantly turned off by this, but the worst is yet to come. The owner came to tell me, in a very condescending way, that mussels all live in mud, so that's just mud. Well, you know what, I'm a biologist! No living shellfish should be filled with mud, let alone there's no body part to be found inside! I'll report this to whoever is in charge of food safety or restaurant; bet someone will be interested.

Cool staff and great atmosphere. Has outdoor dining in good weather. Excellent vegetarian wings. Great place to bring a group.

Our first time at this restaurant. We were looking for brunch prior to heading to the Museum of Art. My family including my young boys loved the food. I did not like my entree but everything else was great so I have to give it 4 stars. We will definitely return.

Great mussels, great mac and cheese, good fries- I've been a few times and it's always good. The bar area is a bit dark, but nice if you're looking for that dim-lit tavern feel. The dining room has good ambiance and the outside seating is nice if you're lucky enough to have nice weather.

I don't recommend this place at all. We walked to it after my girlfriend spent 45 minutes looking at the website. We got there (me, gf, and two of my gfs sisters, one of which is under 21) and we asked to be seated outside away from the bar, but they still turned us away because of having a member of our party under 21. Even after explaining the other three of us are of age and we weren't planning on getting drinks or sitting inside near the bar, we were still told to leave. Absolutely ridiculous. This should be stated on the front page of your website. Do not recommend. Sabrina's cafe a few blocks away is an amazing restaurant with great food and service. I suggest turning the opposite way from Belgian Cafe and enjoy a better experience at Sabrina's or really any one of the other 15 cafes in the area
