Was one of the best restaurants in Carbondale. Too bad they were forced to close recently. But there is talk of them reopening, and if they do, go there right away. You will not be disappointed.

We stopped in here for dinner during a weekend trip to the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail. I got the Saturday pork special, and my husband had the steak. Both dishes were very flavorful and portions were huge. The service was fantastic- the server was friendly and attentive, and the owner/chef even came by to make sure everything tasted good. They also have a large selection of fresh juices with unique fruits and raw veggies- if you don't try one, you'll regret it!

This place is delicious. The food is great and the service is good. It's certainly a nice change from the options in the area. They have a great selection of fresh fruits that you can mix and match from also.

Fabulous food!!!  Loved every single meal (I had 4 over 4 days). Good portions and grate value. Complimentary Brazilian coffee and a nice atmosphere. Although I rarely eat fried fish (Australian and UK batter is just too stodgy, heavy and oily) the Friday fried fish was the best I've ever had! Don't miss Sabor de Mel if you're in Carbondale for anything!
