Consistently great. The birria with beans and rice is out of this world as is the super burrito and the shrimp quesadilla. Margaritas are the fish bowls you want and need after a long week. Just get yer bunz over here and gorge yourself.
Under New ownership not of my liking the original owners had the best beans and rice in the bay hands down. This place is not the same at all. I will advise the new owners to contact the old owners and buy that bean and rice recipe. Other than that I wish them luck I will not be back it’s no where near the same.
My kind of place: friendly, simple, cheerful, genuine. Very generous serving of carnitas, tortillas, chips. It's a family restaurant and I felt peaceful and at home. My new favorite Mexican restaurant in town.Food: 4/5
Oh my goodness! You gotta stop by if you want some authentic Mexican food. Everything was delicious, and the portions were big. They make everything in house, even their chips and tortillas. The staff is also very friendly.
They never disappoint! Haven't been here in years and decided to drop in. The super burritos are so huge I could never finish it! Tamales were made fresh and so good! Must try!
The food is authentic. Place is family owned, we've been going there for years and they continue to offer delicious food and great service. Only down side is parking can be sparse. Plan ahead for that. Also, they are closed Monday, Tuesdays. I ordered the chicken fajitas this time and didn't disappoint.
Under new management the old owners retired and new owners did not keep the food the same unfortunately we are saddened by this, we gave them a try and were disappointed and the service was not great at all nothing is the same and this was the most authentic place in vallejo hands down we will miss this place and the great family that ran it.
Tried this place out and was not good at all beans tasted like burned rice had no flavor grilled chicken steak was burnt also go some chicken soup and it was spoiled nasty smell will never be there again will not recommend this restaurant
The food here is really, really good. That may be partly because they are really, really, really SLOW. I mean, if you have ANY expectations of it being quick in any way, don't frustrate yourself. The beans . . . holy cow, they are authentic and delicious. Eggs and nopales are the best I've had at a restraunt in Northerm California. The burritos are HUGE and delicious. They are the size of the entire platter, and I still don't know how they get the shrimp so tender and tasty. The more we come back and order different items, the more we find to love. Even if you arent fond of regular corn tortillas, you will like this place's. Fresh, handmade, and tasty.
Best Menudo in the world!! So far on my list Comes with fresh hand made tortillas and all the fixing you need. Great staff and cozy atmosphere. Too bad they dont have a parking lot though so good luck finding a quick spot near by. They have a bunch of other traditional mexican dishes including costillas con nopal which is also the bomb. It isn't the most charming building in the neighborhood. But the food will speak for its self. And they sell beer
