They always take forever but I like it they are helpful depending on if you don't get a biased worker. My worker is S. Huntington and she's freaking amazing

Doesn't seem like they care about their residents. I've been to other county offices in CA and other states. Counties with less modern upgrades and more residents do better at ensuring the welfare of their residents. They can't even reply to emails. Alot of misinformation.

Everyone who helped me in a difficult time. I want to say thank you. You were all so nice in my time of need. Thank you once again.

My husband and I were treated with tremendous compassion and workers did their very best to help us. There was a problem with their technology, however. The fax machines were totally backed up and could not take out faxes, so we had to drive in. But the workers were absolutely AWESOME!! Especially Scott! Thank you so much!!

**Update...I discussed the matter with the representatives at the Ombudsman office the very next day 10/24/17. There, we contacted the number Cynthia desperately wanted me to call and the ombudsman faxed the documents they needed which were NEVER submitted by Cynthia nor the guy behind the document submission counter. I left sort of happy being told Cynthia would be spoken to. I also informed them that I will still go in person for various reasons.** 10/23/17 I arrived to submit paystubs and ask questions concerning my case. Because the department has a new phone/online system, they are encouraging people to utilize those rather than coming physically into the office. Even more, customers/clients are no longer given an assigned case worker but the website CLEARLY indicates we are STILL WELCOME to come in WITHOUT an appointment -and- EVERY case worker (when called to review your case) is equipped to help with all your needs....that was NOT the case with me today! I came in thinking that I would be seen in PERSON as I always have even after the changes and walk out knowing everything was good....didn't happen. Cynthia L. Wilson, the Human Services Supervisor overheard me telling the caseworker I would not call the 1-874 # because I WAS ALREADY THERE! She literally came out yelling, proceeded to over talk me, and told the guard to walk me out. Mind you, this is all because she was too lazy to HELP (SUPERVISE) the employee who couldn't answer my questions at the document drop off station. First of all, I am totally unclear as to why my case was sent to the worker there when I stated my purpose was to drop off documents AND discuss my case with a worker to ensure I submitted any and all documents required and to find out what else they needed if such. What they both wanted was for me to put it in someone else's hands because it was late and told me to call the number. For what???!! If I am THERE...what purpose is it for me to "call" the hotline???? Cynthia came out speaking to me as if I were her child yelling saying that I couldn't tell her worker I wouldn't call the hotline and literally told me no for whatever I needed...this lack of a woman didn't even give me the decency to let her know what I even came in there for. Cynthia, you are getting PAID to assist...do your JOB! As I was leaving, I recorded the fact that they tried to brush me off to the hotline rather than help me and do what they are paid to do. In the vid, you can clearly hear that I did nothing wrong but question why I was being passed off. What I find EXTREMELY odd was she asked the worker to give her my case...then walked in her office. THAT alone shows she had the TIME to help! Not only that, in order to become a supervisor, one must actually know how to help those who cannot do what they ought to know how to do. How is she a supervisor when she's literally TELLING ME to call the hotline and I am LITERALLY right there!!!????? She needs to understand her position and what it entails. Cynthia is in no way professional and if a walk in service is provided in which ALL workers can handle a case, THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I SHOULD EXPECT. On a side note, another client/customer informed me that she too was brushed off and told to call the hotline number. She informed me that when she did, she was told by the hotline she had to go in the office. She also stated that she recognized them brushing me off. In the vid...you can CLEARLY hear the demeaning tone of the security guard telling me to exit WITHOUT any reason except for Cynthia's incompetent unprofessional self telling him to. I have every right to be upset and I just might have others document their actions personal experience here with similar situations. I shouldn't be forced to provide information and receive services when there are OPTIONS. I did NOT get a receipt, any indication that whatever he was able to take before his unprofessional supervisor came out that my documents would suffice, and basically NONE of my questions were answered.
