I stopped at my neighborhood Safeway store on the way to the hospital to visit a family member after i left my job. I was in a hurry, and was tired and not looking forward to the task of fighting traffic across town to the hospital. I stopped at the store to pick up some items for my dinner that day, thinking I could get in and out of the store quickly, as I usually do. When i approached the lines, they were both full but I noticed that the customer service desk was free so I thought I would check-out there. BIG mistake. As I stood there, a man came over and said "Is there something you NEEDED?" I told him politely that I would like to check out, and he scoffed at me and motioned with his head toward the other lines. I started to explain that I was in a hurry, and he scoffed at me again saying "Well are you buying CIGARETTES? Are you paying a BILL? Do you need a MONEY ORDER???" I told him I didn't need any of those things, and just wanted to check out and he laughed out loud in my face and told me that I could go to the regular line and tuned his back and walked away. I get better customer service at Wal-Mart. I left without completing my purchase and went to the hospital without having any dinner. I have never in 30 years of existence on this planet received such awful, disrespectful, unwelcoming, miserable service from any employee at any establishment EVER. The story doesn't end there, I called the store to speak with a manager and the same employee answered the phone and told me that I could not speak with a manager, and that if i had any complaints that I needed to tell HIM. The entire transaction in the store, and previous to that moment the employee David the "head cashier" never smiled, but i could hear him smiling as he told me I essentially had no recourse for how he treated me in the store. I asked for the corporate line and was given the wrong number. When I looked the number up online and called myself, a very sweet and apologetic young lady told me she would pass along my info and the experience that I had with the director of the store, and that he would reach back to me as soon as possible. This has never happened. I am frankly disgusted. I have religiously shopped at this store for years, and spent thousands of dollars over the course of time, but I will not be shopping with them or any other location of their company again. I was treated like I was beneath the "head cashier" and I was effectively denied my purchase, I was purposefully given faulty information so that he thought I couldn't report him, and then ignored by anyone who would be able to help me in a situation like this. Really disgusted and disappointed.

AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE! More expensive for fewer options. On top of that, the patrons tend to be super sketchy and kind of aggressive, which the staff does nothing to stop. I avoid going here at all costs---there's a much nicer King Soopers just south on Colorado. Do yourself a favor and keep driving.

I go here because its close to my house and on my way home.  It doesn't have any self check-outs, and check-out lines are typically 4-6 deep in peak times after work.  Just grabbing a jug of milk often takes 15 minutes, mostly waiting in checkout lines.  I have often grabbed yogurt or other "expirables" to find that they were at or past their expiration dates.  The store itself is starting to show some age.  Employees have been good.  We shop elsewhere when we have the time, but this location is the most convenient.

Place is sketch...produce terrible looking.... little selection ...and as with any Safeway.......WAY OVERPRICED...don't visit King Soopers and Safeway on the same day...you will see how ripped off your getting...
Creepy people in store...very uncomfortable..

This place has the worst produce. I suggest you drive North a bit to King Soopers. Even though big city King Soopers leaves a lot to be desired, you'll still have a better experience.

You'll find plenty expired  items here and the staff will be rushing you out 30 minutes before they close. 

And lastly, the lighting in this store is so dim. It's quite depressing Walking into this store. Been living in town about 2 weeks, and already, I can tell you i won't be shopping here any longer.
