Best Safeway in Tacoma, love sushi? Go in on Friday, the best sushi chef & it's very fresh. Fresh baked breads in a brick oven every day. Very busy, thank goodness they enlarged store a few years ago. It looks like it will have to find more space, Proctor District is growing up fast. I grew up in the Proctor District, for years it was blue collar & bars, with a small Safeway. Very Posh Posh, great service for years. Parking is free for now.

It's a safeway. A lot of University students work here so the staff turnaround is rather high compared to other grocery stores. I've had a lot of experiences with staff not being able to answer basic questions because of this. It's a very well kept store with a good deli.

My favorite place to shop, the deli and bakery are top notch. Lots of variety in the fresh fruits and veggies, organic available. Very nice meat and seafood selections. Employees are very helpful and friendly.

Vacationed in Tacoma for 3 weeks. Happy that Safeway was there and close to my location. The store was great, good selection of goods. The staff was... unhappy. The management must be terrible there since every person I had interaction with was cranky and unfriendly. Last straw,looking at specialty cheeses, I asked a deli worker how I would know the prices since it wasn't marked and was told "someone would look it up". Then she walked away never to return. I took my business across the street.

Best Safeway in Tacoma! Cleaner, better selection and employees. The POS system sucks, so it's best to go through self checkout.
