We have been regulars since it’s inception! This is by far the best Indian restaurant in USA! I have had Indian food in Texas, DC, California, Connecticut and NYC. Few of them had Michelin Stars too! For a foodie like me quantity is superb, the taste is totally authentic and amazing, the cocktails are simply outstanding. Their entire menu is one of a kind. Last but not the least, they have same quality and quantity standards for take out options as well. No cheating there! Ambience, oh well, just go and check out. Words fail to describe this place. I have been going to this place since it's inception and writing the review now after years, to ensure nothing is lost. The service staff work like they are the management. Now, that speaks something about this place, ain't it? Try it you wont regret.
Good food. Good ambience, indoors. Not so great on attitude could be a one of experience. The first server who took the order was rude to me and my kids. Extremely arrogant. Failed to ask for/serve water. When asked for it was completely unapologetic and even then failed to give options. I prefer water with ice and he had by then lost me and I was in no mood to argue/ask him any further. The next server who was assigned was good enough to make our dinner pleasant.
We stumbled upon Samudhra last minute as the original Indian restaurant we picked was so dirty! We are so so glad because we loved the food and the outdoor dining. The inside decor is also so pretty, they picked great colors for the ambience, restrooms are clean, silverware, glasses and tables clean! Loved that there was a dress code!! The drinks are wonderful and the customer service is fantastic. Managers checked on us multiple times and the hostess was very pleasant and polite. Our servers, Imran and Kat were great, engaging, polite and smiled! They made our overall experience enjoyable. I especially loved the hostess that greeted us at the table with water and papad until the servers got there - big plus for me! Never make guests sit and wait. Our check took some time and the manager came out with it to apologize for delay, was no problem at all but was so polite that she did. Highly recommend this place - looking forward to our next visit here to dine inside. It maybe pricey but it’s quality! Being a restaurant manager previously, it’s a habit to notice things and they are doing absolutely brilliant.
Wonderful food in a great setting. Was actually quite surprised by this place, and the price per quantity and quality was good! Our server Mohan helped navigate the menu and choose great options! Would definitely come back again. Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie options available since many Indians are vegetarian
One of the best I ever saw in New Jersey. Covered all the aspects we need. It feels like a American Indian restaurant. Environment is too good. Food taste is good. Service is excellent. Good place for families and they will love it. Group of Teens or bachelors may not like this as others.
There's a couple of things I have to say about this place. First of all, wear formal clothes I unfortunately found out about the dress code the moment I got there and felt out of place. The food is greatthe style is Indian, and the service is great too constantly checking in on you asking if you need anything. They were really accommodating, we had a cake in the car and they actually allowed us to put it in their freezer which was really nice. They give a lot of food, but my only complaint with them is the food is slightly expensive but that's fine because of the luxury atmosphere of the place. It honestly felt like a completely different place the moment you walk inside the restaurant. Overall it's a really good place if your looking for somewhere fancy to eat, and if you want to impress some people and I definitely recommend it.
The food is a little pricey but delicious! I couldn't pronounce a order I wanted on the menu so the cashier did it for me. Turned out it was the wrong food item but it was still good. The food had a lot of flavor in it, I want to try the food I wanted the first time which was Palak Paneer and also their Dish since I love so much. Update: I finally tried the two dishes I wanted, they were really good but I wish the chef didn't chop the whole stems of the jalapenos and mixed it in. The food would've been perfect if I didn't have to spit those out.‍
Few minutes after taking our seat, my 10 year old looked around and asked - Samudra is Ocean, shouldn't the interior lights be blue instead of Red. We ordered all Veg.. the quantity was good compared to the exorbitant price but the quality shattered our hopes. Not sure if the premium and quality if for non-veg. Anyways based on the hype would suggest one time experience and you might have a good one.
Been here a handful of times and we used to love the food and service here. Although went again last week and it just isn’t the same. We sat in the lounge, which we have done plenty of times. Music was good. Atmosphere was also fun but the service was very slow. I understand right now there is labor shortage, but the amount of employees that were there, they had enough. The drinks are not what they used to be. The prices have increased and not worth it in my opinion. I have had a better experience for the same Price or cheaper.But the food is still decent and delicious. Just wish it was what we remembered it to be! Maybe better luck next time!
Excellent Food, amazing ambiance and very good service. We would certainly recommend this place to everyone. They have great veg, non veg and seafood options plus their mocktails are excellent too. We went here to celebrate a birthday and we are really happy we decided to go here
