Worst customer relations in all of Texas!! When we make reservations, my girlfriend was in good shape. However, prior to our arrival she fell and broke her hip, making it difficult for her to climb four flights of stairs. In taking with another guest we discovered the room on a lower floor would be available the next day. We checked with the desk clerk and he agreed to let us change rooms the next day. When we went to change rooms, the clerk informed us that the owner said we could not change rooms. Asking why; was told the owner wanted to save the room as it had two double beds and could sleep four people. Long story short the couple that ended up renting the room were young with a small child. After spending four days with the stairs and an owner that was even unwilling to give us a call; we will never step foot on the property again. Also, suggest you have many choices of places to stay, and it will save you from the stress of poor ownership to say at any other place – maybe even sleep on the beech!! If the choice was 0 stars we would have checking (0)

Stayed in Pelican Perch a week ago and had an amazing time. First, this place is one of the only that is directly on the beach! Literally walking distance from the room with free beach toys and boogie boards available onsite. The room was clean and the access to a full kitchen made my stay amazing. I never had to leave the island. They even offered grills out back for grilling and the office has a wide selection of "adult beverages" along with child friendly options. This is not a corporate run Resort, it's family owned, so don't expect high amenities. It was so perfect for such a beautiful location. Most our time was on the beach and it was so nice to just walk to the coast and enjoy our vacation. Very unique, eclectic Port A vacation rental and totally worth it. I feel the negative reviews were looking for a chain "Hyatt" or something, but trust that you and your family will enjoy your stay. The amazing staff makes you feel at home. We will definitely be back!

Nice well kept clean beach. Great for camping, fishing and swimming. Love this place have been here many times.

I love this place. It is the perfect location with a wonderful view. I so enjoy the ladies in the office.. they are the sweetest and will make your stay joyful..

We chose this place based on the reviews. We knew the accommodations would be simple, but chose it based on the location. If you stay here, don't expect anyone to be in the office in the evening to help you if you need it, or for them to answer their "emergency" phone number. We didn't realize until the evening that we were the only people staying at the hotel, and no one else was on the property. They gave us no warning, there's no guide in the hotel for wifi, or who to call, or office hours, nothing. It was very bizarre. The accommodations weren't just simple, they were old and falling apart. The toilet seat was broken, a lamp was broken, the table's chair were rusting, and many of the cooking utensils were rusted as well. The microwave didn't work either. The beds and bathroom were clean, but the sliding glass door was dirty (like you could see where they had wiped it), and that kind of killed the view when it was too cold or windy to be on the porch. The location to the beach was very convenient, but it felt like we were roughing it, and this place is overpriced based on the accommodations. We won't be returning.
