The Mission of the Santa Fe Chamber is to strengthen the local economy and serve as the Voice of Business in community affairs
Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce was established in 1882 as the Santa Fe Board of Trade; the Chamber has since been the voice of the region’s business community. The Chamber has helped turn the Santa Fe area into one of the best places in the country to live, work and raise a family all while helping over 1,000 member businesses thrive. The Chamber has been successful in doing so through the following goals:
CREATING A STRONGER LOCAL ECONOMY
The Chamber’s number one priority is to help member businesses grow and make Santa Fe a great place to do business through:
Working with government agencies to develop cooperative programs that foster a positive climate for economic development.
Supporting the tourism industry which generates millions of dollars in the Santa Fe area
Working to streamline permitting processes
Bringing together community members around issues affecting business and economic development including: transportation, infrastructure, technology, health care, education, legislation etc.
Working for government policies that promote rather than inhibit business growth
Producing the Santa Fe Business Expo which brings together hundreds of local business in April each year
Educating businesspeople through cooperative programs with SCORE Santa Fe, the SBDC and the Santa Fe Business Incubator
PROMOTING THE COMMUNITY
Encouraging visitors from all over the world to vacation and convene in Santa Fe
Providing exposure for member businesses on www.santafechamber.com which draws over 25,000 visitors a month
Maintaining a Resource Center with complete visitor and community information
Collaboration with Arts/Culture organizations, as well as the Santa Fe Airport, Santa Fe Fuego Baseball, and the Convention and Visitors Bureau.
PROVIDING NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES
Monthly Business After Hours, MIX, Business Over Breakfast and Brown Bag Lunch events (Chamber Calendar)
Annual Business Expo, Legislative Reception, Golf Tournament and Business Excellence Awards events
Regular political issues forums
Chamber Ambassadors who assist with ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings and other business events

REPRESENTING BUSINESS ISSUES THROUGH LOBBYING AND POLITICAL ACTION
Continual lobbying at the City, County and State levels for issues of concern to Santa Fe businesses
Connecting 1,000 state legislators and businesspeople at the annual Legislative Reception
Partnering with the Association of Commerce and Industry in producing Business Day with legislators and other events (e.g. New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange Outreach and Education)
Producing an annual Legislative Agenda that forms the basis of lobbying efforts
Alerting members as to important issues facing local business
