The people that work here are very nice, very qualified (they get 5 stars).  However the management is not so good so the DMV gets only 2 stars.  Kind of like the roads in Sonoma County, full of potholes and patches upon patches.  Visiting the Santa Rosa DMV is a very much like a third world experience - UNLESS you have an Appointment.  

Also the outside of the building looks like an abandon building that has not been maintained in 40 years!  Weeds, and dead landscaping ! Building needs paint and lots of TLC.  A real embarrassment ! Where dos all the money go?  Pension funds?  Obviously not to maintaining infrastructure.

star, Why? because they are not open on the weekend. People work during the week. If the state has a Requirement then they need to be available when the average American is. The weekend.

I just called at 0810 today and the automated system said the wait time is 16 minutes.  Ok fine I can do that since the normal wait gets longer (up to 1-2 hours) the later in the day it gets.  16 minutes goes by, fine I am a very patient person. After waiting 25 minutes 16 seconds, someone picked up the line and then I was disconnected. You can only imagine how upset (not the word that comes to mind) anyone would be after waiting on the phone 25 minutes + only to get disconnected. I get it, Santa Rosa's DMV is overwhelmed, but don't hang up on someone that has waited their turn patiently. I'm done venting, @*&^oles.

A Waco threatened me if i didnt move my bike. He came at me yeeling so i punched him in the atoms Apple. He stopped yelling.people came out to see what was going on i shrugged my shoulders and said i dont know. The guy is deaf and could t get hes point across so i just left

If you want to have a good experience at the DMV, make sure to have an appointment.  Everyone I dealt with their did a good job and was fairly efficient.  If you don't have an appointment you'll be waiting in a long line most likely.
