Save a lot is not my favorite grocery store only because it has a limited selection. However, this Save a lot has hands down the best staff of any grocery store. I live a couple blocks over and frequent this store when i need a couple ingredients and every time i leave impressed by the friendliness and chattiness of the employees. (chatty in a good way. they always ask what im making, how my day is, etc) I hope management is recognizing what a great group of people they have working their registers and aisles

If I don't feel like going to the Giant Eagle on West 117th or the Dave's on 25th, this is my choice for grabbing some quick groceries. They have a pretty good selection in the store, sometimes the lines can be long but everybody there seems friendly. It's a good place to get the essentials, some meat, some produce, and a lot of frozen items. Don't forget your reusable bags.

The security guard would not let me out of the store without standing in line - even though I had bought nothing. Eventually a manager came to open the little chain across an empty cashier lane. He said it was due to the but there is no reason a customer should be trapped in a store because they did not have my item in stock.

I do all of my shopping for staples here. Bread, bratwurst, meats, and some vegetables. You won't be able to find anything mildly obscure here, but if you just need basic groceries it's far cheaper than giant eagle or Target.

It's a Save-A-Lot. It's a pretty clean location and it's pretty straight forward. Be prepared to share some change though.
