Story

The Capalbo Family has strong ties to Rhode Island and the dental profession. Dr. P. Edward Capalbo founded the group in 1946 after serving as a dentist during World War II. He opened his practice on Canal Street in downtown Westerly in a small office space above Toscano’s Men’s Shop. In the 1970’s, his two sons Brian and Ronald joined their father and moved the practice to its current location on Granite Street. Dr. Brian's three sons, Michael, Matthew, and Marcus, followed in the family’s tradition to become the third generation of dentists.

With the third generation, under the leadership of Dr. Michael Capalbo, the group has expanded to add offices in the beautiful towns of Wakefield , Wickford, and North Scituate. While expanding, the Capalbo family continues the legacy left by Dr. P. Edward of providing a warm, comforting family environment where patients are treated with respect and honesty. One of the reasons the Capalbo Dental Group experiences such success is rooted in simple adherence to the one of their key management strategies. That is to hire a team of talented and dedicated individuals and offer a healthy, joyful environment which serves to support and celebrate each team member. Walk into any of our offices and you will see a happy, unified staff who go above and beyond. Each member of our team attends annual training to stay at the top of their field and to keep up with the rapidly changing technologies in dentistry. We have recently incorporated an Endodontist (root canal specialist) and Periodontist (gum specialists) to work within our practices which allows us to further streamline patient care.

Throughout our 70 year history, the Capalbo Dental Group is proud to have been able maintain the old world family practice feel while also utilizing the latest evidence based information and technologies available in dentistry. Our unwavering commitment to these core principles have enabled our group to continue to provide exceptional dental care to more Rhode Islanders.
