Mediocre food, and craft beer that leaves you wanting. The blueberry beer is one of the better fruit beers I have had but I’m not normally a fruity beer fan. The other craft beers they make often have a skunkyness to them. I’ve been to this restaurant several times over the past 10 or so years and it never seems to improve but also never seems to get worse. The friendliness of the staff can be very hit or miss. On a positive note, they do have a nice deck with a wonderful view.

Spent a few weeks in town, and frequented this restaurant quite a few times. GM Bert and his staff (Justin and others) provided great customer service! This is definitely a must stop when in Bangor. Bert made sure to personally come and greet us and ensured that we were taken care of and satisfied. We entered as patrons and left as family!

We called to reserve a room for a wedding party, 24 people. They told us although they don't reserve rooms to just call an hour before and they will make sure we will be seated. According to them initially, we would be sharing and event room with another party but there was plenty of seating. We called an hour before like they requested and they informed us there was no longer any room for our party and that we should have booked the room ahead of time. How do we book a room when they don't do reservations? Severely disappointed! Luckily Olive Garden was able to book us a room last minute.

I have been coming here over the years, since my early twenties. The bar area used to suck because it had really unfriendly, inattentive bartenders and servers. I am a pretty good-looking dude and awesome, so I know it was not a "me thing." Anyway, over the years, this place has seriously improved. Great staff, friendly and know the menu well. I have rarely had to wait long for a table or place to sit. Environment is clean and well-maintained. Management is doing a great job. Recently I had a business lunch there and our waitress was fantastic; she came by the exact right number of times and was not annoying. And she answered my incessant questioning about the various sauce options with a smile. That's more than I could have done; I would have punched myself in the face. One complaint I have: I would suggest some expansions to the menu. Mainly I would suggest adding more products overall on that menu, especially in the Entree section. I would love to see some ketogenic options, e.g. 4 oz grilled salmon with a portion of spinach and portion of broccoli with parmesan cheese. Or going in the other direction, offer some ridiculous ice cream sundae thing. But maybe that's just me, this is a great place to eat and drink and I recommend it highly. Thank you Sea Dog for putting up with me when I was 21 and super annoying.

Sea Dog has a fantastic location on the river, which makes for a great atmosphere. In warmer months, sitting out on the deck overlooking the river is a lovely setting for enjoying a meal. The food selection is pretty diverse and usually quite good. The wait staff is pretty hit-or-miss in my experience, but still worth visiting for good food in a great setting!
