SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium is a great place to go. The entry fee is a little high but in line with other aquariums around the country. If they brought it down a little I believe they would see even more traffic and serve a greater part of the community. The exhibits are kept neat and clean on the outside. There were just two tanks they seemed to be having problems with but it was obvious they were working on it. The staff was welcoming and engaged. We had a slight difficulty at exit getting our ‘free photo’ when we were directed to go back into the line to get it. That was worked out satisfactorily. They have apparently been actively engaged in breeding and helping wounded wildlife but I did not see anything specific about that in the exhibits other than some numbers posted at entry. They have a wide variety of sea life on display and they all appeared in good health. Most of the displays had plastic plants in them. It would be nice to see more natural environments for the creatures and to examine them. The viewing tunnel was very crowded. There was no docent there and several patrons took the opportunity to rest and enjoy the tunnel while a single line file of other patrons had to navigate through along with carriages and mall baggage they might have with them. Overall this is an excellent location to visit. The children enjoyed it. I would recommend by passing the play area.

A great place to visit and see ocean life up close. More features of great lakes fish would be a plus. My only complaint is that the mall carts or rentable strollers are huge and take up a lot of space which makes viewing difficult when crowded. Most did not even have kids in them. Detroit zoo has visitors leave strollers aside to allow more viewing room. I think that would be a good consideration. I have a 1 year old and did not require a stroller.

I bought tickets and I couldn't make the time so i called and ask for another date. the accepted and I was able to go! nice customer service. as for the aquarium, it is pretty small. It seemed like there was a lot of 'regular' fish rather than the cool fish. There was a cuddle fish which is one of my favorite animals but not the exact type I love. I wish there was more adult appeal but I understand there being more money in targeting kids. for me it was a 3 star visit.

It was really fun, whole family went out including our 1 1/2 yr old! Kind of weird set up when you first go in, they have you waiting in a couple different lines just to get into the actual aquarium but it does have some of the most amazing tanks and interactive areas for kids! Its perfect for pictures and killing a couple hours with the family!

Fun for all ages, my 11, 8 and 2 year old all enjoy it for 1.5-2 hours. Clean, with nice variety of activities if you take the tune to read and learn and not just rush through. Best on a weekday when less crowded.
