My husband and I decided to start taking our youngest dog to Dr. Emery initially because it was conveniently located within walking distance of our home. Our other vet was across town, near our previous home. Since Seatown opened we have taking our dog there 3-4 times for different issues. I was most impressed when I took my dog in for excessive itching. We had recently lost our older dog who had similar issues and I thought I was familiar with all the treatments and their effectiveness (or lack there of). However, Dr. Emery suggested a new treatment we had never heard which was not only easy and effective, but also inexpensive. Dr. Emery and her staff are really wonderful with our dog and already know her by name. We are so happy and lucky Dr. Emery opened her clinic here in Greenwood.

When the vet clinic we'd been taking our two cats and 1 dog to for years was bought out by a corporation, my neighbor mentioned seeing a new vet clinic having opened close to our house. I stopped in to Seatown Veterinary Clinic soon after to ask about transferring my animals' care. I loved the cheerful, simple, welcoming atmosphere immediately. Dr. Emery was alone in the office with no patients at the time, so she showed me around, including the surgery, and told me how she came to open Seatown in Greenwood. She was so friendly and calm and open. We'd been taking our animals to Seatown for several months when our sweetest kitty ended up needing emergency surgery to remove yarn he had eaten. Dr. Emery brought him through that ordeal with flying colors and he healed completely. Unfortunately, not long after, he ate parts of a lily bouquet. Knowing lilies are poisonous to cats and dogs, I rushed him to Seatown and was seen without an appointment. Dr. Emery started treament immediately and kept him at the clinic because my family and I were to be in MN the next day. We were in contact with Dr. Emery and vice versa from MN for many days. In the end our kitty did not respond to treatment, perhaps because his kidneys had already started to shut down by the time I realized what he'd eaten. But Dr. Emery and her staff were incredibly compassionate towards us and so genuinely caring and loving towards our cat--he was not just an animal with a poor prognosis. They knew how devastated we were to be unable to hold and say farewell to our beloved family member in person. They did everything they could to take the best care of our kitty and to make a very heartbreaking situation more tolerable for us. The one good thing that came of losing our kitty is having found out what excellent practioners as well as truly wonderful human beings Dr. Emery and her staff are. We trust them completely and feel incredibly fortunate to have our animals in their care. As others have stated, we could not ask for a better vet, and we & our pets will follow Dr. Kari to her next practice, if she ever chooses to leave the Greenwood neighborhood.

I first met Dr. Emery in 2008 when she was with a multi-vet clinic. Once I had dealt with her, I never used another vet there unless Dr. Emery was out. I’ve followed Dr. Emery to her own practice, quite a bit further from my home, because she’s the only vet I want for my animals. There are many things which make me say that, but here are just a few - She opened her own practice due to a commitment to unhurried, personalized, quality care for her patients; she is collaborative with me, and treats me as a partner in decision-making regarding my pets’ care; she listens to me and adjusts her choices based on what’s important to me; she understands the concept of not doing diagnostic tests if they won’t change the course of action; she’s cheerful, pleasant, kind, super-smart, and easy to work with... the list could go on and on. Her new clinic is small but very well equipped and feels homey and comfortable. Finally, her staff is wonderful. If you’re looking for a new vet, or are open to trying a new one, I can’t recommend Dr. Emery highly enough.

Dr. Emery is a knowledgeable, caring and compassionate vet. I have been seeing her for 10 years and when she opened Seatown, there was no doubt in my mind but to follow her there! Worth the drive to have her as your vet. I trust her and her staff with my dogs!
